Looking for some fun pow skis

Sup NS, before the hate brigade comes out, let me preface this by saying I've been to shops and googled, figured getting some more opinions would be alright as well.

Location- Montana (Big Sky) and Colorado

5'6", 125 lbs

Budget- doesn't matter, I get employee discounts at ski shops in MT because of Big Sky

Ability level- type 3?

Now for some more info. I'm looking for a pow ski. I want something fairly playful, doesn't need to be super chargy. I'm pretty little and while I ski some gnarly stuff, I'm not suuuper burly or aggressive when it comes to my ski style. Something with rocker/early rise is nice, but I don't want to overdo it on that front. I would prefer not getting a women's ski, I've looked at the VJJ and the Moment Reagan and while nice, I would rather ride a men's ski. I can comfortably ride up to 171 cm, can do 175 alright. I have park skis and all mountain skis, so I don't need something that can do those as well.

I've been eyballing some Moment Night Trains, I've heard good things about how they ski with a smaller person and they sound fun.

Any helpful input/opinions is much appreciated

My friend is about 5'2" (never have asked a women's weight), she just picked up a pair Night Trains at 168, same skier type like you, and wants to get more into big mountain. I'll link her to this thread for you. I would also consider the Factions like stated above, along with the ever popular Pandora and/or Mr Pollard's Opus. Also, look into the 174 Surface New Life. That was my friends second choice for a ski

that's me ^ except from the sounds of it i'm a more aggressive skier. i'm 5'1, 125 but i just picked up some 168 night trains, haven't been on them yet but i'm super stoked. being 5'6 though the 168 will probably be too short for you and a friend was telling me the 178/186's are not nearly as playful. I was also looking at the new life's. i've heard they're pretty playful if you could rock it i'd be jealous if you got Bentchetlers though.

The Caylor Lite doesn't come in a 171. When I asked about this I was told that the 171 was softer enough than the 181 and 191 versions that a lite version was unnecessary.

I'm a girl about the same skier level and size as you (maybe? I'm 5'4 but I haven't been on a scale in a year or two) and went with the 171 Caylors. I haven't gotten to ride them yet but they're super light and seem flexy enough to be playful while still being super stable. If I hadn't ended up with these I would have probably gone for night trains like annex decided on but I like keeping some camber underfoot. As far as powder skis go, I'd consider both the night trains and the Caylors to be a bit more on the stiff side of things but you should have fun on either as long as you're skiing confidently.

168 moment night train. 172 bacon, 168 or 173 blend. 172 pandora...

At your weight you dont really need anything in the 120 mm waist range, its kind of overkill. You'd float just fine at your height/weight on something 100-115ish in the waist.

If i were you, 172 bacon.

i ride a chicks pow ski ( moment regan) in a 168 in 5ft 6in 140 and they are super playfull but stiff enough to stomp airs and durable

She would only be able to get a chetler in a 183. I'd say 175 jj, 178 opus/bacon, 171 caylor, maybe a 169 obsethed in the older generation, maybe some bibbys in a 174.

i love love love my Caylors. however I'm 5'9 145 and I think the 181's feel a tiny bit short and soft after a few weeks on them. I think the same thing would probably happen to you if you got the 171's, but the 181's may be too long.

I'd go for the Moment night train 178's if I were you. I'm gonna guess both your other skis have normal camber, at least underfoot, so that would make your quiver that much more versatile.
