My budget is 4k and I've been narrowing down cams for about a month now. Originally the HPX-170 looked like a great option but shelling out hundreds of dollars for P2 cards was honestly a deal breaker. Since I will be shooting predominantly weddings and other events I liked the features of this particular model(great in low light, 22x optical zoom). The other cameras I'm considering are the Sony AX2000 and the NX5U.
AC-130:

The AC130 unfortunately doesn't have an SDI out but I've been told that any footage out of the HDMI will give you the same 4:2:2 signal as the SDI would(albeit without timecode). Can anyone confirm this?
Also, should I invest in a multi-year care plan? I plan on using this TOPS a couple of times a month. The new solid states seem like not much could go wrong but i don't really know as I don't have much experience with these newer cams.
One last thing, should I buy from BH? Do they offer an education discount like Apple? I'm looking for the cheapest price I can get.
Any and all help would be GREAT! :)
