Ski Shop Jobs

So my job currently is going down the drain and I am slowly but surely looking for a new one (but in no hurry). I am considering working at Ski Pro by my house but I dont know what a ski shop job experience is like. It looks pretty sick though. Has anyone else worked at a Ski Shop and if so how was it?

i work at a ski shop, start like 7 weeks ago, it has its pros and cons, if it's busy it sucks cause i have to do rentals all day, it theres no one there its boring but you meet people who share the same hobby as you plus you get to meet reps and learn about the industry so it kinda balances out i guess.

ski jobs are pretty dope! i work at a shop and the majority of what i do is sweep, take out trash, ya know bitch work. but currently got waxing down, rest is just sharpening edges, grinding basis, detuning edges etc. its dope cuz you get to talk shop, get free wax and get up to 70% EPs on gear. if you can, work at a shop!!!

yea u do get pretty good discounts if you hold your job long enough. but make sure you buy early because im in a boot situation where i want the twalls but cant get em cause there sold out and then found out there sold out of the majority of what I like in my size. Just a heads up!

believe me, if you work in a shop just for the discounts people can tell and you wont have a job there too long. just as i was finishing up my last two weeks at the shop i used to work at, some kid that was just hired told me how i needed to order him a pair of hotdoggers (hadn't worked a single shift yet). the best part? the shop didn't even carry full tilt! needless to say, the kid never got the chance to work a shift.

the discounts are good and all but if you want to stay at a shop, it has to be about more than the discounts.

^Agreed.  I've worked for 4 years now @ a ski shop and seen many kids come and go.  the job can be very mind numbing and generally very repetitive, though the industry people and hobbyist you meet do make things that much more interesting.

Pro Deal is the shizz though.
