Moment Reno Jibs?

loved the way mine rode. they are really playful and incredibly light. but they had some real durablility issues and broke to the point of unusablility in 4 months

i can hate because skis dont just crack in half when u hit a jump. and no not everyone else loves them

Do the math man. HOW MANY moments break? Read the forums, listen to what people say.

My friends moments broke. Severe edge cracking and total separation of the base and the core under foot

SInce there are people who do not believe moment's durability, I will post pictures of my 09 jibs when I can.

i had them for 4 months, so they shouldn't have broken no matter what i used them for. which i only use them for jumps.

Yeah I have an overall hard time believing how they are breaking when they say how durable the ski is with the aspen and ash core which they claim is supposed to be super durable. Ive never even came close to breaking a pair of skis in half so I'm not to worried about that. Im glad they are light poppy and have a low swing weight though! thanks +k

jumps will kill a ski quicker than rails if you get it wrong. If you land way off and your binding doesn't pop or whatever, the ski is going to break. 4 months is not that bad if you're going big.

his skis broke. that gives him the right to tell others that! just because most people on NS love them doesn't mean hes not allowed to talk against them! just because very few moment skis break doesn't mean hes not allowed to say his did!!

what the fuck did you expect him to say? "yea my moments are amazing and didn't break" (even tho they did)? yea fucking right! hes just telling the OP that his did break, he never said all of them suck. hes got every right to tell the OP the honest truth about what he thinks!!!!

Hey pal, if you havent been reading, he doesn't say how he treated the skis. Also, just because a few skis break from a company does not mean the company is bad Please, sir, fuck off. Newschoolers doesn't need pretentious douche bags like you.

I broke the tip of my rockers on the 3rd day of skiing. I was spinning on a box but came off the side and the tip of the ski hit the box. It hit it so softly and it's something I would have done many hundreds of times over with previous skis but I'd never broken any before. It was such a minor error, I didn't even fall over, there was clearly just a weak point in the ski, some sort of manufacturing fault. Moment had no legal requirement to do a warranty return because it was technically "impact damage" but I contacted them about it anyway, told them the story and sent pics. I figured they'd just think I was bullshitting and had done something really bad to break it but they believed me and sent me a new set. It took many months for them to get around to it but nevertheless, they agreed to replace the skis, even though they didn't even have to.

On the flip side, I bought a pair of the first Volkl Walls a few years back. At the time they were the most expensive park skis in the resort I was living in but in less than a week the both split LENGTHWAYS??? I hadn't had any harsh impacts of any kind, it was without a doubt a manufacturing defect. I sent them away to the warranty department and after over a month of having no skis (in peak season too) they got back to me and denied the warranty claim... I did eventually get replacement skis but not without arguing for months and being the most stubborn irritating asshole imaginable.

My point is that every company, no matter what product they're selling, will produce duds sometimes, it's unavoidable. What's more important is how the company handles the problems than whether or not people have ever had their product fail.

This. Moment replaced my skis even though the fault was caused by a shop error not them, and they paid shipping both ways across the atlantic. Best customer service error IMO.

P.S I also had those walls which wouldn't hold bindings and then snapped. Völkl were a pain to deal with.
