YungHuck.I just want to give you some insight. I've lived about an hour away from Penn State my whole life, and have been to a few games every year since I've been old enough to remember. I was actually at the last game that Paterno ever coached.
Joe Pa made a huge mistake. However, he was a very charitable man, legendary football mind and person. There was a love for him among the community and fans of PSU football that I don't even think can relate to any other college coach ever. There is SO much more good that can be credited to Paterno than this shitty story that unfortunately was true.
Legendary coach and football program with a tarnished reputation because of a fucking terrible story and the way it went down. The program is on the rebound, and I'm really happy what Bill O'Brian and James Franklin have done since the incident. This definitely shouldn't define PSU, but sadly it will remain over the program for a very long time.

Kooky_LukeyIt was the biggest scandal in sports history, anyone's reputation would be tarnished. And about there being "SO" much more good, could you back it up? Big whoop he won some football games and gave to some charities. Anyone who made as much as he did should. And no other coach like him? Look up Bear Bryant, Knute Rockne, and Tom Osborne.
Also, last time I checked, hiding the fact that one of his coaches, someone that he hired was raping kids pretty much tarnishes any "good" he ever did.
pennstaterSo I know this kid and saw this incident happen from a distance. First off Sig Nu at Penn State is a shit frat, and while many of their members are chill kids, this kid (I think his name is Ryan) is a total fag. However, what the fuck does that kid think he's doing wearing a West Virginia jersey in the PSU student section. Absolute clown move, kid must be from Pittsburgh to be stupid enough to do that.
loganschnurBig whoop? He was the NCAA scapegoat. He did everything legally required of him, yet people expect him to go above and beyond on morals alone. Sandusky was one of his closest friends and heir-apparent to the head coaching job had Joe retired like a normal person does at 70. He donated more than 3 million dollars to the university to build a library, and he refused to be paid more the $200,000 a year while other coaches like Bear Bryant were making 7 figures. And the university knew what they did was wrong, and complied with the NCAA sanctions completely, which is why the team is bowl-eligible again.
Obvious bias is obvious.
Kooky_LukeyDid you just pull $200,000 out of your ass? Do a little research. Paterno made over $500,000 just base salary and over 7 figures after everything else "like Bear Bryant". Paterno made more than the president of the university.
