Anyone ever buy something from www.bikesdirect.com?

I wouldn't buy from them. It looks like a Toy's R Us type road bikes, like it would fall apart after 2 or 3 rides. Save up a little more money and buy from a reliable brand, and if you dont know anything about maintenance get a package at your local shop(plus when you get something fixed ask for the bike tech to show you how to do it).

the motobecane looks decent, but that site looks sketchy.

I would suggest you go through a local bike shop, where they will get you all fitted and set up correctly. and really, you can get a carbon bike (which that motobecane is) for just about 1700 these days. And I think getting a legit bike, a good fit, and supporting a local company is worth 300 bucks.

i bought a road bike from them about 2 years ago. best purchase of my life. i got a mercier galaxy Al 2009. it has a carbon fiber fork and seat post and alunimum frame. the bike was only $495 and shipped free. got it in less then a week. comes almost fully assembled, just the fork and wheels need to be put on. assembly took 10 mins.

i still use the bike and have ridden it over 5000 miles over the years and its as good as the day i bought it! i have rode it in a century the past 2 years too. the thing hauls ass!

keep in mind if you go to a shop a comparable bike to mine will cost you ~$1000!

there legit, on bike websites people talk about them all the time. there basically rebranded really expensive bikes.

just look up reviews for whatever bike you wanted, and see what people have to say

they/re legit, its all over bike forums. u need to know a little about bikes to put em together, but that's it.

werd good looks...just getting into road biking going to pick up a bike for 700 which is worth somewhere like 1500-1800 in comparable brand name.

get the superbird s5d for 799 or the flight s5d full carbon for 999.

Sites legit. Bought the Mercier Kilo TT single speed almost two years ago. Been riding it almost everyday since. A similar bike at a local shop would have cost me more than double.
