Flash recommendations?

Hey NS, i finally decided it was time to upgrade to an external flash. I really don't know too much about flashes at all other than some reviews and things like that i found on google. I mostly shoot skiing and skateboarding, and was wondering what kind of flash you would recommend? and also what all will i need other than the flash? sorry, still trying to learn about flashes and such. thanks
