Looks like it is pretty much the original halo with better graphics and xbox live I believe

except for the minute of glory you have when you use a shotgun against the flood before it runs out of ammo

i think i've played the halo 1 campaign about 20 times since it used to be the only game i had on my computer

I'm pretty disappointed they remade the multiplayer with the Reach engine. Why couldn't they have just used the old Halo CE engine? Would've truly been an anniversary game.

In the original halos 1-3, the ranking system online was on a 1-50 scale. Reach did not have that, and even though I have played plenty of reach I am still not sure how the ranking system even works...

I think that is what they are talking about, I'm not sure though.

Well that wasn't what I was getting at but that is a good point. I was talking about how the game plays in multiplayer, it is really it or miss. IMO Halo 2 had the best multiplayer game engine, meaning it played smooth, balanced and really depended on skill. In reach all these armor abilities make the game really slow down and less fun.

Really tempted to buy it but not sure if I can drop 60$ on a game I already beat over 20 times.

But they dont have the server for it any more, so no more halo2. Even though i still think they have it for PC but not sure.


IMO, Halo2 will go down in my heart as the best online multiplayer of the decade.

Well I picked it up earlier today. I think the multiplayer is just alright, nothing special. But the missions are great.

Who else picked the game up, thoughts?

I feel you. I spent a decent amount of time modding the crap out of halo 1. Pistols shooting rockets and whatnot.
The original halo pistol was so brolic, but they tuned it down in every game. In CE it was like instakill.

The campaign 3D mode is sick. And yea everything besides the graphics and sounds (you can switch both back to original), is exactly the same as the first Halo campaign, definitely worth the nostalgia. The multiplayer is run off the Reach engine, but they have classic Halo modes, with none of the new Reach perk nonsense, and a few original Halo maps. All in all, for $40 it's pretty good, I've got a few of my friends who swore off Halo back into it.
