Triple Cork in Pipe

Googled it and couldn't find any information on anyone doing a triple in half pipe.  So my question has it ever been attempted before and if not do you think we will see any triples in the pipe soon ( 3-5 years)?
P.S. I am aware triples are still fairly new...

eehhhhhh I think it will be 2 years minimum. There are what 3 skiers that can do triples, I think it took a while for doubles to hit pipes after they were thrown on jumps. Plus it seems like less people ski pipe, so there again the less people the slower the progression.

note the size of the jumps which were needed to attempt and land the few triples done so far... then think of how far you would need to air out of a pipe to do a triple.

currently seems impossible.

i would be impressed. I just can't see it being done because of the limited size of the pipe, you can't simply make a bigger jump to try it on. They would also have to tie it into a run if they wanted to include it in competition. Maintaining speed seems impossible.

People will be throwin like triple flats/flairs by olympics no doubt, they bring around double flairs so damn easy, with air bag/foam pit technology someone is gonna do it.

I'd agree with this. I think a triple flat/flair is going to be more feasible than a cork would be simply based on the amount of air and relative ease that flats are done. It might not happen until the year before or possibly even at the Olympics, but I think it will happen.

superpipes give more then enough airtime for a triple flip so i have no idea what u guys are talking about. considering the amount of funding going into pipe training, coaching and air bags you can defiantly expect to see it happen before the olympics.

hink about it, the first guy who chucks a triple in a pipe has a HUGE edge on everyone else and will probobly own comps until everyone catches up. we saw this with shaun white in the olympics of 2010 . People know that they will have to learn it and they will try as hard as physically possible to land it first because it guarantees wins, sponsors and cash.

oh and to the guy who suggested t - hall , you must be joking or u are absolutely retarted..

my prediciton is that we will see pipe trips into airbags next season for sure. they will start getting landed into snow probobly late this season or early next season.

triples are gnarly but I don't think I would care to see a hucked out triple flair and 3 other hits win out in superpipe when someone could be doing smooth dubs, tech stuff, and get more hits in. They should make it so that at least 1 hit has to be 360 or less.

definitely this. the way double corks are thrown it seems like they couldn't go triple cork but who knows i think someone could by the olympics..

A lot of todays pipe skier has the skills to lay down a tripple in the pipe i believe, but my guess is that nobody want's do it. When the first one is done, everybody else has to learn it and it will become a standard trick.

I'd honestly have to say if anyone will do it it will be Simon. Watch how big he goes on his dub flair in Revolver and tell me he couldn't huck it to triple

The only guy I have in mind that could have the air time ton triple would be the Dumont on his first hit. He goes sooooo damn huge on his double cork that I think he could quite easily add a third rotation.
But i'm note sure i would like it... pipe would become very dangerous. There is absolutely no place for the smallest error. Crash in pipe = seriously hurt.

This is what i was going to say. He still goes bigger than anyone in the pipe. IMO hes the only one that boosts high enough out to pull one off, but thats not to say others wont someday

eeeesh, I see someone perhaps getting close, but get injured en route to perfecting it for the olympics. Theres no doubt youd have to chuck it first hit. I really dont see it plausible to be honest
