Pretty sure this video was put out last year.

If kids want to wear tall tees and jerseys and 4XL clothing, let them. Same goes for tight pants and dream catchers. When it comes to style in terms of clothing in skiing, there is really no right or wrong answer, just personal preference. Often times people wear what they feel good/comfortable skiing in. When you feel good, you ski well. When you ski well, you have more fun.

Plus, how many kids really think they are from the hood or have street cred? Just because you listen to hip hop and wear baggy clothing doesn't mean you want to be in a gang.

i think its hilarious when people talk about my wu tang icon. ive had it since i joined like 6 years ago...because I love wu tang. does that mean I think im some kind of thug? Negative, i am what i am, a middle class semi well off white kid who loves skiing. This video is more aimed at kids who hero-worship tom wallisch...and think they are just like biggie smalls when they hear his lyrics about drugs and violence.

No dude I see the point. I grew up poor but busted my ass to get out of that. Now I'm living in a real nice house in a real nice neighborhood. My point is that now we have all these little D-bag kids in the neighborhood thinkin the only way they can be cool is to act gangsta. But these little tards are taggin up trees and cable boxes in the neighborhood and totally shittin it up. They're also breaking into cars and whatnot. These kids have been caught numerous times and it turns out they friggin live here! They're daddies drive friggin porshes and shit! They just cannot grab the concept that being a hardass in the ghetto is a necessity in alot of cases. I don't condone it but you can see the logic. Your poor, you steal to eat. Your 'hood looks like shit, you use spraypaint to make a mural to express yourself and add some beauty to your surroundings. You can't afford new clothes, so you rock hand-me-downs that are likely too big. It's not so much a lifestyle choice as it is a forced lifestyle. So when these dumb-asses who's parents can provide ample opportunities do not take advantage of their situation and try to emulate people, who want nothing more than to be in that rich kids shoes, it turns my stomach.

That vid was hella gay though. Since when did snowboarders become "the authority" on what's cool? Haha. All the under 10 kids in my neighborhood are all into Shaun white and Tony hawk. Talkin bout "skiing isn't cool, it's for old people". Haha. IMO snowboarding as a whole over the last few years has attained level 20 metrosexuality. Some of the biggest tools I know snowboard and will be the first ones to talk shit on skiers. Then ya just roll out on em while they're sittin there takin forever to strap. Haha

Hi I'm a snowboarder and I love a ginger, his name is Shaun White. He wears skinny leather pants and a leather jacket when he boards. He has a cool nick name "flying tomato" and he wins the EXGAMES he is so cool and I love him. When he dresses skinny so do i because it is cool now because Shaun White does it. DId I mention he has his own gum?

Ski gear is kinda like the internet. Because no one can see who you are behind it. Kids get all covered up with goggles, huge sweatshirts and pants and no one can tell who they are.  There is power in anonymity and thats why the kids act "thug"  Think that same kid would act like a gangster if he was wearing his normal clothes and you could actually tell he was a short skinny 13 year old with braces?

haha im not insecure, i think wearing tall tees to your knees is done to cover up insecurity far more than anything else...and snowboarding remains the authority on whats cool since skiers are continuously copying them ( i know snowboarders copy skaters blah blah dont give a fuck) and snowboard videos are consistently way better than ski vids. honestly what really grinds my gears is kids who wear 6XL gear and do a million switchups on a box and think theyre the shit.

Straight up this. Do i wear some big ass tall tees and baggy pants? yes. do i wear them because i think im straight out of compton? no. I wear big shit because it's just mad comfortable. Even if for some reason pros start wearing tight shit, and all the kids follow that style, im gunna wear baggy stuff because it's more comfortable IMO, and being comfortable allows me to ski better.

Skiers copy snowboarders? Your kidding right? You are aware that skiing is waaay older than snowboarding right? You are aware that there's a bunch of snowboarders out there who will pay ridiculous amounts of money for old school one piece neon ski suits right? If I'm correct the highest put of a pipe is still held by a skier right? And on top of that he corked and Shaun white did some gay little grab for second place right? Have you seen split boards yet? It's whatev really. What gets me are the peeps who think their the authority on "what cool" cause they snowboard. Like I said before, two of the biggest tools I have ever rode with were snowboarders. They'd talk a ton of shit but had zero skiing background and are total hipsters. I literally giggle at them as I'm skying over their heads after they eat shit trying a 180 that took them 45 minutes to get the courage to try. Now theyre not all like that. My best friend was a lifetime snowboarder before he died and would be the first one to put another snowboarder in his place for talkin shit on skiing. It's jus another way to get down the mountain. Shit I even did it a few seasons. It was cool for a while cause it was so "hardcore" like skateboarding or surfing. Then it got trendy. Now it's so trendy that these 50 somethings having a mid life think they're hardcore cause they board. Plus every 10 yr old thinks it's the only way to be cool. Those two points there should tell ya that snowboardings poorly misconceived authority on coolness has def come to an end. This year alone I have two good friends who board that have switched over to skiing. Last year it was four. Honestly the only people I still know who board are my friends hipster kids.

little story:
This one day this 13 year old kid, basically what you described, tried to convince me and my coach that thugs actually ski. We kept on telling him he was wrong. He goes "What about Jon(one of our friends), he's a thug" I just look at him and say "Jon is super religious, doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, and a whole bunch of other religious type things, he just wears baggy clothes cause they're comfortable" This kid goes on for a while, my coach finally looks at him and goes "WHOLY SHIT! THUGS LIVE IN THE GHETTO, DEAL COKE, AND KILL PEOPLE! SHUT UP!" I found it funny.

wear what you like, create your own style, dont represent some "image" that you think is cool because it makes you feel like Tupac. I'm not against baggy clothes on-hill, just the mentality that these clothes somehow make you you "hard" or have "mad street cred"
