Curious to see what people are editing on (and want to brag a little about the 2nd Hard Drive I just installed in my MBP ;)

13" Macbook Pro 8,1
Intel Core i7 2.7 GHz (Dual Core)
8gb 1333mhz RAM
Intel HD 3000 Graphics 512MB VRAM
120gb Vortex 3 SSD
500gb Hitachi 7200rpm Drive

When I'm at Home I have it hooked up to a 20" Samsung Sync master, with a wired Apple keyboard and Magic Mouse.

Running Snow Leopard

All purchased and assembled by myself:) 3x Phillips 24" monitors 3x 1tb 7200rpm hard drives hooked up in a raid 0 configuration, It gets speeds a tad faster than my dads ssd does. i7 Quad Oc'ed to 3.8GHZ Stable 8gb of ddr3 Ram ATI HD5870 Oc'ed edition Creative X-Fi titanium sound card G9 logitech mouse G11 Logitech Keyboard Over the last year and a half i've invested over 3000$ in it, but it rips apart anything i throw at it:)

I can listen to music, browse the internet, edit photos and videos, and sometimes I play this skiing game.

Spent 1800$ originally, my monitor died, so i spent 700$ to pick up those three, then i upgraded my sound card and hard drives which was another 500$. It was what I wanted at the time, what would you do if you made 70k a year at the age of 14? Haha...

Overall it is working great, and I am using a GH2 to record AVC-intra at 176mbps. Wasn't cheap, but i am hoping that i will be able to use it for all 4 years of college (with some upgrading, like ssd's)

I've got a 27 inch imac. It runs fast and has a big screen, and it was cheap. I'm with Mike... it does what I need it to do!

before I got my mbp i would use my families 24" iMac. It was awesome, specs were nothing impressive, but it handled what I threw at it very well. Also, those new 27" ones are beasts of computers, I have heard that they can easily match the mac pro. I don't like getting to caught up in numbers, but at the same time it can be helpful for potential buyers to get an idea. WIth that said, if you convert to a more editing friendly format, any current mac other than the air (not positive, it may be fine but I have no experience) should be acceptable for basic video editing. Also not trying to hate on pc's, I just know that the specs vary greatly and I am more familiar with the capabilities of the macs

well, when I saw "does what it needs to do" I'm referring to graphics files that can crawl upwards of 3 gigs at times. I chews through them like nothing. pretty great. I love my mac.

except for mine isn't capable of running final cut pro and the internet at once. Thankfully I'll be investing in either an MBP, hackintosh, or beefy PC for college.

15" mbp with 2x BenQ G2220HD monitors, 8gb ddr3 ram, intel i7 2.3ghz (quad core), 750gb sata hd onboard and a 500gb+2tb seagate externals, and amd hd 1gb graphic card. I have the adobe master collection and constantly have bridge, ps ae and premiere open, plus traktor and ableton live running too and everythings smooth as fuck so i'm happy
