SNOW: freeride/freestyle skiing game

SNOW is the first true freeride and freestyle game for skiers and snowboarders. Based on the free-to-play model, SNOW looks to restart the winter sports genre taking the player back to basics refining scale, physics and controls to capture the majesty of the mountain. SNOW is a game for riders, by riders.

SNOW will be released for free later this year and developed according to feedback from the community.

making people download bootcamp to play this shit on a mac is bullshit. please make it for mac, or hire somebody that can. oh yeah thats right you fuckers probably don't have the capital to do that.

I lost IQ points reading this post.

Anyone who had read the thread knows that the game doesn't use an engine that runs on Mac. I'd assume that would be because it uses DirectX, which is made by Microsoft, and doesn't work on Macs. When you buy a Mac you are aware that most games won't work on it, so don't get pissy when there's a game you actually want to play.

Oh, and go back to elementary school and learn how to use capital letters.

Im pretty sure that question has been asked on every page of this thread. It really is your fault. It will eventually have mac support, but only when cryengine has mac support. They have said that cryengine has a mac build, but they havent released it for devs yet. It shouldnt be too long.

to change time of day, either hold NUM+ / NUM- or type "e_timeofday" followed by a number from 0 to 24 into the console

Was playing with keyboard and thought it was ok, but difficult to get speed, accurately steer etc, and almost impossible to do decent tricks.

Setup X360 controller on it today and it was a HUGE improvement in how the game plays and feels, it's so much fun now and this game is just going to get better.

Basically, get a USB controller and play with that, it completely changes the game.

Did anyone else notice the massive castle on the backside? It's pretty cool. It has wood jumps and flowing banners inside and all sorts of shenanigans.

Yeah, the camera doesn't go as if it were true pov. It rotates around when you're fully upside down

the rail physics are weird , the animations should look more like shredsauce with pretzelling and backlocks instead of werid body tweaks.

Latest update kicks ass. My biggest gripe is that I spend way too much time just flying around. ahahha. I want more spawn points. and I want to play with other people and do events! also maybe an overall mini map of some sort? and since we are going with realism maybe maybe an actual lift where you hit the bottom and it asks if you want to teleport to the top?

If you want more spawn points, use the console command "spawn _" and enter a number between 1 and 9 (though there may be more). These might still work and give you spawn points around the mountain :)

We decided that a minimap is totally unrealistic and not part of the experience. We will give you the ability to display the mountain map though. This means that experienced players know the mountain more and we don't give away secrets.

We could probably do a simple set up for lifts if it's really demanded. We figured it's a low priority feature as, well, you can just restart or freefly..

Other questions:

Halfpipe - yes, it's not working yet fully. We will fix this in the future. That's why we didn't give you a spawn point over there!

1st Person Cam - The camera doesn't like going upside down at the moment. This is something we should be able to fix soon.

How do you go POV?

Loving the game, my only gripe is how its really glitchy when youre going slowly/stopped. Other than that I'm loving it! getting to know the map is so much fun, do you guys plan on expanding it?

Been spending a lot of time in the park after exploring most of the mountain.

Doing technical rail tricks is pretty hard, but I'm glad it's that way. It's engaging. Has anybody been able to 450 on yet? I'm about 0 for 30
