Coreupt or surface?

hey NS, I am looking into the coreupt yard and the surface double time or no time. Wondering if anyone can help point me In te right direction? +k to helpful answers

Surface Nine Life durability was terrible. It's a fixed problem. Let it go.




Go with the Double Time.

What's your height and weight? Use of ski?

I'm not concerned about the nine life nor do I hold it against surface. I really like the double time, but am concerned about flex seeing as I am only 150 and 6'2" It would be used for park and all mountain freestyle

They're more of a medium stiff flex.
I'll be rocking a pair for 65% park, 35% all mountain. I'm 6'2, 170 lbs.

You should be fine

you should definitely look into the double times. surface makes a really nice ski and i dont think durability will be an issue with them at all anymore.

i got some anthony b double times for this year and im pretty excited to bust em out

Ill be honest, I have heard nothIng but good things about the coreupts and the double times. I'm not one to just listen to an opinion like this without any backup what so ever? So how about this? If you don't have any helpful advice with backup, stay off my thread. Thanks

Cant say much about surface,  i have a pair of 11 Coreupt Caspers that have been used and abused and are holding up awesome. I was skeptical at first about Coreupt for sure, but for they money its seems worth it. But they are now made in a diff. factory so who knows..

Based on personally experience I would avoid the cheaper surface park skis, however the double times are apparently pretty durable, and they have beefed up the no time this year so the durablity problems they had in the past might be over.

no they dont. surface addressed the issues of their cores and other materials of their park skis the following year. and people complain about park skis having terrible durability when they are riding rails and doing bonks and taps. this type of riding will affect any ski no matter the brand or materials. if i was in your position i would take the double times over coreupts any day the flex which is stiff is great for jumps but in the tips they are still really playful. what more could you ask for

Surface skis are what they are, skis made in china, constructed out of cheap materials. My two gripes with them are their base material essentially being untunable and the quality of the cores being lower than most.

Corrupts are dynastars, which have always had decent construction

Coreupts were dynastars in their first models which unlike the materials of dynastar absolutely sucked. k2 gets their skis manufacured in china along with line and a couple others. surface did redo their cores and got the proper materials and proper amount of wood to make them durable, poppy, yet light. many ski companies use similar base materials which do suck and i have to agree that surface could do better in that department for they seem almost like extruded bases.

Funny, my K2s have been holding up just fine.

Surface's main problem with the no time, nine life, whatever their cheap park ski happens to be, is in the cores. They snap way too easy.

Double times are fine, but their pricepoint ski always has sucked.

i never said that k2 was bad the previous comment mentioned china possibly referring to the fact of quantity over quality. i do agree that their no time/nine life is still sketch but as a price point ski you get what you pay for.

My Friend has Yards. I would say they are a cheap, durable, stiff, poppy and fast park and all mtn ski.

Surface and Coreupt are both really good companies but personally I like surface more because even the double times are really sturdy and will last

my buddy matt skis the double time and iv interogated him about his skis alot.

he loves them, does nothing but rails, hucks them, jibs them, urban whatever, they are holding up great. he also said the dimensions are like perfect ha.

iv demoed coreupt yards, they rock, ski kind of like the 4frnt click and msp, really stiff but really stable and comfortable.

id reccomend the surfaces, they seem way more fun.

What I would consider:

K2 Domains
Line TC
Atomic Punx
4FRNT Click! or Switchblade

I've had both the Domains and Punx and they both rocked. The K2s were wider and that gave them an edge but in turn the Punx were lighter. I'm getting the TC next year cause I demoed them at Whistler and was instantly in love. I'm just recommending the 4FRNTs because they're a great company that makes quality skis and you should look into them.

Neither. I destroyed my coreupts. Really fast. Like multiple edge cracks throughout the entire ski in a few weeks. And I knucked a jump and it split in half.

Surface is worse. My buddy broke 3 and a half this year. And he wasnt even skiing that hard.

i'm very happy with my coreupts and would definitely recommend them !

also, a little note to clear some things up, coreupt used to be rebranded dynastars and had some pretty bad durability issues, now coreupt has stopped using rebranded dynastars and started producing skis in their own factory, ever since they haven't had anymore durability issues. All coreupt skis are produced with the same construction but just different shapes for each ski, this construction is proven and time-tested ....

I've ridden the coreupt TJ schillers as my main parkski the entire season and ridden the yard 2 days and they feel pretty similar, yard is a bit softer but both are incredibly stable and poppy skis that are very predictable, even under shitty conditions ....

Also their price is a huge bonus! i paid 99euro for my tj schillers last year and yesterday i got the exact same deal on a pair of Born To Drops ...

Oh and before i forget, coreupt park skis run pretty short, the length is accurate but they run short because they have a pretty big tip and tail, for reference my 181coreupt has a shorter running length than my 173 movements ...
