Hey guys, I'm upgrading to the Sachtler Ace and no longer have a need for a slider I built a few months ago. The slider cost about $200 in parts and took quite a while to make. It is currently set up to work will any 501/701 head (or anything else that shares that quick release plate) but can be modified to work with pretty much anything. if you want, you can put a tripod head on the top of the slider, but right now its just a quick release plate (same as the 501/701 QR so you can just slide your camera off your tripod, slide the sider onto your tripod, and slid your camera on to the slider! And vice versa. No having to remove/switch your QR plates. The tract is the same one used by the Glidetrack sliders, and gives very fluid motion. This is hands down the lightest/most compact slider I've ever seen which is really cool.No flex at all when mounted on a single tripod. I cut it the the optimal length for a 501/055 setup, as when i would go any further than where the track now ends the tripod would begin to tip (with a 60d and heavy lens. Everythings put together well, with stoppers at both ends of the track, and the all components attached in multiple places to prevent twisting. Also, everything can be modified with pretty standard tools.
Length is 24"
Weight probably under 2 lbs (havent weighed it but its super light
$100 shipped. want this gone quick
Tripod obviously not included.
If you want cheap shot variation that doesnt require lugging around a huge slider, this is for you!
Bonus: for anyone with a Dakine Sequence pack there is a little slot on the side on wearer's right that holds it perfectly. Wouldnt be surprised if other packs had this too.
Want this gone quick! PM IF INTERESTED!
