if you signed up on investopedia there is a tutorial section. if you didnt sign up on inverstopedia go to investopedias website and go to their tutorial section, they have one for beginners.

Precious metal investing> stocks




Invest in silver or gold. You're pretty much guaranteed a return and you can fairly easily double up. Stocks you can get rich if you get lucky and put your shit in the right place. Also have to deal with a lot more ups and downs

i'm not saying you're wrong, because nobody knows that until it happens, but personally i feel like i could never board that sinking ship. they let their shit fall apart and become outdated for sooooooooo long before they took action to try and do something about it...says a lot about their management and structure. it's a risky bet, but hey who knows - maybe it will pay off

Somethings that have been popular in industry for long periods of time might get fazed out. Some stuff that's new might not catch on.

I rocked out silver because it was pretty safe. Regardless of ooo it's pretty demand it has pretty dope uses in industry as well.




There was a stock I wanted to get into if I had had the loot. It was doing something with animals. I forget what it was but it was genius. Unfortunately i was poor :(

Volatility index (VIX), I'm seeing a bad future for greece that could send even greater waves across markets than it has already which I believe will lead to more variances displayed in the S&P 500.

not a bad idea but for the everyday trader you are going to make a lot more money if you trade stocks correctly. precious metals take time to make money on unless you have mass amounts of money and can literally buy like 50,000 ozs of gold and sell it when it goes up like 3 dollars.

i bought G.E a few years ago when it was $5.60, and it increased over 300% in a matter of about 4 months . BOOM MOTHERFUCKER i cashed that in./claim.
I wouldnt buy it now, it's plateaued at around 15-17$ for months now.

Which were false.

The leverage that options give you allow you to make "mass amounts of money" (I'm talking in 300-400% or more within weeks... if you pick it right/are a bit lucky) if the price of gold goes up by only a few dollars... for example.

There is no need to buy huge amounts of gold to profit off a small price move when options serve the exact same function with minimal relative investment (albeit with corresponding risk).

I'm a Finance Major. Market is quite volital right now. Greece Referendum is going to screw things up. They are also announcing unemployment rates this week. Just sit on CNN and watch news on technology and current events. Certain events effect different firms in good or bad ways. See these things early on = Monay. Thats all i got.
