nope, we arent. that was the late 90's and early 2000's. the last 5 years people have come to their senses worldwide, and have started with sustainability projects and its now starting to pay dividends. fish stocks are now on the rise. keep in mind these are mainly developed nations and the numbers are still nowhere near historical levels, but they are nonetheless on the rise. believe me. my dad is a commercial fisherman and a board member for the BC tuna fishermen's association. he goes all over the world for meetings and is in the loop with different fisheries hither and yon. so dont worry your sleepy little head, things are looking up!!
as for the thread, my favorite has got to be the collar piece of a 15lb winter white chinook salmon, baked with rock salt and a sprinkle of seasoning salt served with rice and a really cold coca cola. mother fucking food heaven. in a close second comes smoked sablefish, this should be on your bucket list cause it is also orgasmic. and third has to be whole herring, yes, head, guts and all, sprinkeled with rock salt and baked and eaten with rice.
