I was wandering where i should mount my bindings on my new AK JJs i have the 2012 rosi FKS 180 bindings on them. I ski anything from trees to cliffs and throwing 3s off shit. I might even be wanting to try 5s or 180s off anything!
Keep in mind that the JJ is a 5 dimension ski, which can be pretty sensitive (in terms of performance) to moving around the mount point. Armada's recommended mounting point is -5 from center.
I've skied the 195 AK JJ at -4 and (as well as at the -5 recommended point). I think you'll be very happy with them at -3 from center. Ive found that they ski really well switch mounted at factory, at full center you will compromise charging ability, so -3 seems to be a good compromise.....just my $0.02. I doubt you'd be regretting it in terms of swing weight and balance
i wouldn't go anywhere closer to center than -3, i agree with the guy above. I will probably be mounting my 185 JJs at -3, you don't wanna go center on JJs, these skis were built to charge the bc, and they know that in this day and age people charge switch and throw stupid shit off cliffs. the swing weight is like no other, and you will be able to ski switch, butter, and throw shit even back 3 from center
my straight tape pull comes in at around 193...(I think what this really means is that someone should write up a contracts agreement for all manufacturers standardizing length measurements - we'll send 2 copies to K2, haha)
