karma in newschoolers is a perfect representation of peoples feelings in your everyday life. if people hate what you say and give you 0/10 then whatever. in the end it doesn't actually count for anything, it's just another factor to waste your time worrying about, just like if somebody at school or work doesn't like you very much. similarly, if someone does like you and puts you at 10/10, it can benefit you in the long run (positive reviews on your sales, help with bumps, help finding that jacket you want), or it may not benefit you at all. in real life making people like you could help you but most times it really won't, it'll just heighten your self esteem.
all in all, if you're doing what you love it shouldn't matter what people think about you. i'm sure every one of us has hit urban, or pencil jibbed, or foot jibbed, or drawn pictures of skiers or watched skiing videos in class. and i'm also sure that someone during the course of those things has looked at you like "what the fuck is this kid doing?". but it doesn't matter because you keep on jibbing or playing gnarshmallow, because it's something you really enjoy doing. just apply that to other things too. if everybody stopped progressing the moment someone gave them a weird look the world would be nowhere.
