K2 Hellbents vs K2 Obsethed in Switzerland

I wanna buy one of these skis, cause I can get a real good deal fro last years Hellbents or Obsethed for 400 euros and I live in Switzerland. Switzerland can have its amazing pow days, but there can also be real shitty days like last winter where there is just crud and slush off piste. There is defiantly not as much snow as on the north west of the US, but it can get close.

The Hellbent is just straight up badass I think with the waist at 132 cm, but I have a feeling that it will be really shit anywhere else around the mountain because it doesn't have camber. So it will just be horrible while skiing back to the lift or when

The Obsethed looks like the smart choice to me with camber under foot and with less floppy rocker that goes dubsetep (Wubabbaabab) around on the piste

What do you guys think? I know that there are other amazing pow skis out there, but I really don't wanna spend more that 400 euros.

Oh I'm 6 feet, weigh 75 kg and I'm 17 years old. This will kinda be my primary ski, but I also have last years kung fujas, but one of the tails is bent and they are send in for warranty, so hope i get good news soon. I would get both skis in the size 189 cm.

Obsetheds are floppy too. I think that both can be very fun on hardpack if you have the right expectations. Neither are gonna carve like GS skis (though the Obsetheds will carve better), but both are fun to do butters and play around on.

I bet that both will have more than enough float. I'd say that if you like to just carve pow and hit drops, get the Obsetheds. If you do a lot of switch skiing and tricks into pow, Hellbents.

Although I wouldn't get either as my primary skis. There are more versatile skis out there that are still floaty and fun in pow. Armada JJ, Line Opus or SFB and so on.

Seth for sure, you will be miserable if you have to ski the Hellbents on variable crap all the time, they are too big.

i'd go obsethed, imho a much better allround ski for europe than the hellbent ...

189 in either is a big big ski for switzerland unless its an amazing year. Last year sucked and I had Bentchetlers and EP Pros and they were annoying for the most part. Honestly I'd wait and see if you get the warranty Kung Fujas. I can't think of many days last season when you'd have been more happy on bents/obsetheds than Fujas, maybe 3-5 last season? Warranty or not, if it has to be K2 I'd probably get the Fujas for Switzerland if I only had one ski. I think I'm going to scale down to Line Bacons for the same reason. If I were you, I'd be looking more in the 100-110 waist region with less rocker. You can definitely ride the big skis day to day, but they are heavy and more work than you need. Where in CH do you ride?

Since you're looking at more of a one-ski quiver than a pow ski I'd for sure go with the Kung Fujas. Hellbent is pretty much a pow only day, obsethed will be good for a couple days after the pow and will do okay all-mountain but the Kung Fujas is a real beast in any condition pow, park, or crud and is k2's best one-ski quiver by far.

I ride Hoch-Ybrig on the weekend bases and Engelberg, Klosters, Lenzerheide and Laax during holidays or long weekends. And yes I am going to wait until K2 comes back to me with the warranty before i buy a ski. Thanks +K

my bases ate shit last year kuz was so keen to use new pow skis & pretending its a banger powder day and then there being rocks everywhere haha. europe was so shitty last year for snow im migrating to canada this winter.

Yeah, the sport-conrad deals are pretty amazing :)

Do you need to get bindings as well? Because I REALLY need some bindings, but I don't want to pay full price. I'd rather find someone whom I can split with.

europes gunna get huge snowfall this year i think... still, the grass is always greener. see how this winter go's down and may only be a temporary migration.

Take a look at Atomic, K2, Volkl and Salomon ski's too. Especially Salomon and Atomic are ridiculously cheap.

Atomic Blog + STH 14 Driver - 430€.

Ridiculous... Well, for the time being I reckon 3 pair is enough, otherwise I'd definitely get a new ski.

Also check out Spexx.org, really cheap combo's too!

Sweet. I loved the 99€ sale on CoreUPT. This topic is pretty much made because of that sale. I picked up some Permins just to see what an ultra wide ski is like (125mm...) and now I'm looking for a good binding.

Getting an STH16 from a friend probably, 75€.
