For me it's long johns. Thinking of expanding my under snow pants wear. Some of my friends rock the shorts and even just boxers. So, what do you guys wear under the pants?

exactly, i almost always have basket ball shorts and something longer if its cold. i think its really weird that someone would rock just boxers under, i cant even imagine. im used to having my pants whether they are ski pants o regular below my ass so sitting on a snowy chairlift with a thin layer of cotton would not be fun at all.

Because no one wants to drive home in wet, soggy snowpants, or tight ass longjohns. After the days over, you can take your ski pants off and walk around comfortably in shorts. I prefer to wear longjohns under the shorts so you get the best of both

3/4 length merino wool longjohns (icebreaker) for nearly everything, very comfortable and controls heat well. On super warm days I'd just use regular cotton boxer shorts.

I don't really know what it is in English, but in Swedish it's "superunderställ". It's like long johns I guess, but tight and not made out of cotton. First layer is some sort of synthetic material focused on both insulation and breathability. Then if it's really cold I put on a second layer, a little bigger to make sure there's air between the layers. This second layer is merinowool, best natural fabric out there.

And I really don't understand how you can ski with shorts or pyjamas underneath your outerwear.

Totally don't get the bball shorts thing. I wear a base layer. After I'm done skiing I change into jeans or something like that. Wearing them as a layer is just weird.

Bball shorts are breathable and they wick moisture. So there's no better way to add some style to otherwise lame long underwear without sacrificing performance.

I mean seriously... you need to look cool in the lodge if you're going to look cool on the hill.
