I'm planning on buying new outerwear soon. I'm a photog so a lot of time will be spent hiking around/standing to get shots and not necessarily skiing. If the season goes well there will be a lot of pow time in there as well. I need something that will keep me dry or warm and dry (if its not a shell) through all this. I've heard mixed reviews about companies like Saga, FD, Lethal Descent etc. regarding the quality of their outerwear, so if anyone who has experience could point me in the right direction that would be sick. Thanks.
I think that's what I'm going with. I found some of last year's stuff for cheap. Anyone know what the sizing is like? I'm thinking XL Bellows. I'm 5'8" and I want it pretty baggy, but not super long.
if you google "site:newschoolers.com trew zipper length" some of those threads may help. not sure what jacket or size you are looking at so i can pick out the right numbers myself.
Just go with something with Gore-Tex. That shit is guaranteed to keep you dry fo life, unlike the polyurethane on everything else that will peel off over time and go to shit.
the higher end armada outerwear is really nice.
trew
orage (jp model is apparently really high quality and goretex)
oakley
padagonia
north face
arc'teryx
Armada jackets are perfect. They sent me a suit and its thin but soooo warm. They have tons of features that i like so for me i feel armada outerwear is on point.
