Canada is a Democracy. Britain is a Democracy too. The queen is just a figure head with a lot of money and absolutely no power. We have a governer general who represents the queen. Once again, an appointed figure head who does little more than spend over her budget in travelling.

We vote for a Paliament who does have autority. Since 1982 when John A. rolled over in his grave we pretty much have no ties to Britain making our own foreign policy. Before that we pretty much did the same but now it's official.

Provinces are run pretty much the same as States are. They're given responsiblities such as roads then they loaded with more responsibilies such as health care and education that the federal government is too lazy to take care of themselves.

haha. who told you canada was amonarchy. the only thing the gov. general and leitenant general do is put there crest on our bills to make them legit. now suppose they decided not to approve a bill, the bill would not be real. but that never happens. and if it did wed over throw thge bitch.

The queen does still have powers, 'she' (the govenor general) has too sign legislations and such...without that signature it wouldn't technically be legal, so technically, she does have veto power which she would never, ever use because no commonwealth country would ever stand for it.
