**Good** free or cheap video editing programs?

I'm thinking of editing some stuff with my GoPro I bought over the summer, and I don't want to go out and spend 200+ dollars on an editing system if I might not even like editing, or I'm just plain bad it. So is there any good editing systems I can get for cheap or free. Maybe a trial? Thanks.

are you on osx or windows? there are free trials for final cut x and adobe premiere cs5. if you like them you can torrent the master serial list and use it forever for free.

How cheap?
Avid used to have a free editing program that you could use.

You could buy Adobe Premiere Elements. I took this route and I've been pretty happy with it. I know, I can go on a torrent site and get CS5 for free or get a keygen for the trial, but I wanted to legally own what I was using and not have to deal with all the potential headaches that can come from a pirated program. Elements actually does quite a bit and is plenty sufficient for my needs. It's definitely worth checking into and it right now it's selling for $100 on the Adobe website. You can also get a bundle with Premiere Elements 10 and Photoshop Elements 10 for $140.
