JJ's 175 or 185?

I'm going to order some JJ's for this season and was wondering what size I should be looking at, I'm leaning more towards the 185s at the moment.

I'm 5'7 165lbs and ski a 170 park ski which feels perfect. I heard the JJ's ski REALLY short, and I like to charge hard so would the 185 be the best bet?

I would proberbly actually recomend the 175. If you have a 170 park ski and it feels perfect then going to the 185 is a massive step.

I ride the 181 suspect and thall in the park, and a 184 rocker 2 which is pretty much the same ski as the JJ. It feels great in the trees and jibbing about on. The only time I want the 192 length is big steep fast lines. So if your more into trees, BC freestyle, genral jibbing about get the 175, If youski big AK style lines as fast as you can get the 185.

But why not try to demo both and see what works the best.

I would definitely go with the 185 cm. The effective running length of those skis is much shorter than actual length which will make the 185s ski shorter than most 160 skis (on groomers).

With any sort of early rise/rocker, always go considerably longer than you normally would.

I had to face the same decision a few years ago. 185 for sure, they feel perfect on me.

Add same decision, i buy the 175 and i regret it now. 185 cm for sure

Definitely 185. The 175 will feel like they're shorter than your park skis.

Thats so funny I found this post. I personally own a pair of 185 JJs, I am 5'7 and about 175. I ski a 180 park ski but like the feel of shorter parks skis for rails and jib tomfoolery. the 185 feels great in the side country and backcountry but feels a little bit too long and big for me spinning, etc. I am really contemplating the 175 personally. Effective edge is true but a big, long ski is harder to play on. I think I can sum it up by saying- if your favoring backcountry or pow go 185, if your favoring in bounds and park with JJ go 175.

Well if you are a good skier i'd say 185 would work well.

yeah go 185, im 5'11 and i ride a 189 surface one life. and my brother who is about your same size rides a 185 ep pro and the jj's are easier to control than the eps so the 185's would be the way to go

185. 175 is for midgets and girls... Kidding but seriously go 185 the effective edge is very small and you will have absolutely no problem with the extra length. When I first picked up my JJs I was your height and less than your weight and they were the perfect length. I wish I had 195s now.
