Just got my first job pretty much. Just wondering if it is normal for bosses to sort of threaten you by talking about IF they keep you around and stuff?

My first boss (well still is my boss) was pretty dope actually. Yea, she's pretty anal about her standards (I'm a dishwasher) but she never said anything about "if" they keep me. Her, and the rest of the staff were actually pretty welcoming. She also said they weren't usually that friendly usually to new staff members so I must have gotten lucky.

Also, how old are you?

17! I got the job of my dreams and i feel super blessed. I work at an outdoor store and rental and tune shop. They have never hired a highschooler before. and my boss is always telling me he could have hired like 25 kids that are college grads with actual retail experience.

My first job i showed up late and drunk....... a lot. i also took like week vacations with like a 3 day notice. My boss was pretty chill about all that. Really i am surprised i didnt get fired. also my manager (as opposed to the owner who was my Boss boss) was super chill. We would like close up everything but the front at like 4 in the afternoon then just sweep the front and peace at like 7:30.

Sounds like the typical boss that is trying to pressure you to work your hardest. Just be to work on time everyday, do what your told, don't argue, and be willing to do anything and you will have a job forever.

my first boss was my aunt.

but she wasnt listed as my direct supervisor since you cant report to family at the isc.

was the dopest thing ever. during race time she was really tough, but once the green flag flew we all got plastered on pit road.

Well my shop boss is dope! We can drink and do shots during work and shit. ahaha the retail boss I have known since before the job and he is super cool but yeah i think he is just pressuring me a bit.
