Oh absolutly! I used the Invaders last season and put quite a bit of slices/chips in the cap.
More-so then when I rode the Rossi Scratch FS for a season (sandwich construction).
The material is softer and the wood core is more vulnerable on a cap ski if you cut deep enough you know?
The really only benefit to a cap construction ski is saving weight. Mostly all conventional styles of cap construction cuts weight in comparison to sandwich. That's the way I understand it.
