i just moved to boulder from CT and am wondering when the resorts in summitt county start to open for the winter.. thanks

last year november 1st was opening day for copper and winter park (er, WP might have been a week afterward or so it's always a little foggy in my head).....i think loveland pass and a-basin open like a week earlier

coppercolorado.com and skiwinterpark.com (i think) are the two websites for those places if you wanted to check

Here's the opening dates (some are from last season because this season's arn't announced yet). However; these dates are dependent on conditions so hopefully it will snow a ton and they'll all open early

everyone ive talked to so far has said that people are expecting a snowy winter. where is loveland in relation to boulder?

loveland is about an hour away. there is sick backcountry on the pass. People make huge booters and step ups all over the place. the slopes are steep and ussually deep. There is even a rail garden at the bottom to play on when awaiting to hitch a ride. stay away from the resort though.. it blows.

loveland pass usually isn't do-able until mid-late winter. lots of rocks to cover. you need a sled if you want to get to the good parts of vail pass.

i remember skiing at loveland a few years ago on oct 17th. that was the earliest i've ever skied. we also went there the last day of that season and it snowed so hard.

you prolly want to stick to breck, keystone, and vail or bc if you get the colorado pass or the copper/wp pass isn't too bad either. don't even waste your time with eldo. check out jibij pro-shop on 28th street or at theit little booth by the umc next thursday.

Loveland is straight up I 70 and is the first ski area you come to, it is scheduled to open on 10/14. Winter Park is scheduled to open on 9/17. Also, I heard Breck is going to try to have their park completley built by mid december.

The 5 mtn pass is one there too, just look, its called the colorado pass, 350 for the 3 unimited mtns and 10 or 20 days at vail or bc. I think Im gonna get the 5 mtn and the copper for $150, so many options.

I think oct 12 loveland oct 13 a basin but that may have been 2 yrs ago. Key and breck nov 14 vail beaver after that. I don't know which pass you got.

colorado pass is over and done with unless you're renewing I think.
