Get a lil purp skurp from up nurth in yer private bowl dude, make sure its crystalized dudeee then you'll be in a cloud of puff puff pass man. But yeah totally blaze and ride.
This this this. Cid puts me in my own zone. Ive never tripped skiing but this summer i took 3 hits and skated HARD for 12 fucking hours. I was so concentrated, i did not want to stop skating. Its definitely the hardest ive ever shredded.
If you cant enjoy park skiing whilst not on drugs nor alcohol you cant call yourself a skier. That makes you closer to a junkie than a skier to be honest.
As for pow, i can understand doing it high is a sweet experience
I haven't read this thread, but I do have a comment.
Alcoholism and getting drunk are two totally separate issues.
If you drink too much for too long, yes you will start to suck at skiing. This is because you will start to cross the line into alcoholic, which means you get fat, you're drunk all the time, and you're out of shape because you've been drinking for like 10 years straight.
Commonly seen in pros that party too much for too long.
Partying is sweet. You can fully party and ski.. its part of it. Just know when partying has gone on for too long.
when i drink 2 - 3 beer (1-1,5) liters, i ski alot better then when beeing completely sober. i suppose this is so, because i dont think about the tricks and what could go wrong that much and i feel a bit euphoric wanting to push myself, feeling i can go bigger. but thats just me. apart from alcohol i wouldnt do any drug on the hill.
Never been good at skiing after driking or anything... everything seems to become scary and painful. Other than that I think skiing BC anything but sober is extremely irresponsible. You're out there with your buddies who count on you if something goes wrong, its not just yourself who would be put in danger.
The thing with alcohol is that it throws off your balance. So I'd gander though maybe removing some inhibitions can be temporarily nice, it might pose danger when those inhibitions should have been there.
I have a firm rule where if I drink at ALL on the slopes, I have a firm no jumping rule.
I'm sure I'd live, but the consequences of doing something stupid when you're drunk and getting seriously injured are just too high on the risk vs. reward analysis.
I follow the same rule. Add to that - no skiing in the trees while drinking and skiing. I've seen too many people hit a tree and hurt themselves while drinking and skiing that I don't need to become one of them.
I only ski hungover. Switch five to throw-up-all-over-myself is my best trick. It's hard to do sober, unless you have the flu... or did the gallon challenge a few minutes before, but then it all comes up white which blends in with the snow, way less steezy.
