I NEED A JACKET-need some input

I'm looking for a new ski jacket for this season and have done endless research and obviously found many jackets. I was just wondering if anyone could help me narrow down my search/personally recommend something that they really like. I am 165 pounds 6'1" and want a jacket that fits me well and not too baggy but slightly baggy. Thanks for the help,

You don't need to keep it narrowed down to ski stuff only. Ski and snowboard brands have lots of good deals. I recommend looking through Backcountry/Dogfunk/Department of Goods, Evo, etc. Filter by price lowest first, then just search for anything you think looks good. I like Backcountry stores because they have good variety, prices, and if something were to happen to it, I have the return policy to easily save my ass.

Just remember you have more choices. For example, right now I have Foursquare pants and a Capp3l jacket. Not because I like those brands at all, but just because I liked the specific item for fit, quality, price, features, etc.

There are a few things you want to decid before looking for jackets. First off do you want a shell or and insulated jacket. Shells tend to be more waterproff but you will need to layer up more which will mean addtional tech layers. An insulated jacket will require less under, but may be too warm for hotter days.

The next question is how water proff do you want. 10k is pretty much the minium. It will be fine in snow and light rain, but if your sitting on a chir lift in hard rain you may get wet. A20k jacket will be much better in wet conditions. If your going to stay on the hill no matter what condtions this may be the one to go for. Gortex is around the highest rating at 25k but it will also be the most expensive.

Once you know these too things you can look more clearly for jackets which match your requirments. Its always a good idea to try jackets on before buying as sizes change dramictically from brand to brand. I have an armada reckoning in lrg and a salomon reflex in XXL and they fit the same, so always try before you buy if you can.

I almost bought a bloom jacket, but i realized i really needed insulation in my jacket. They are making some of the cleanest and freshest outwear out there. Check em out man.

I've got a Salomon Reflex. It's a shell that's super waterproof and isn't overly baggy at an XL (I'm 6'1 175lbs). It is super dope and comes with a removable hood so it doesn't flap around.
