I may be wrong but I believe he suffered a serious brain skiing and has been recovering ever since. This is awesome that he is back on skis though!

He suffered a traumatic brain injury whilst skiing, helmet save his life. He's been amazing everyone with how quickly he is recovering

As mentioned before he is recovering from serious brain trauma, hit his head after badly overshooting a switch double 12 and fell into a coma. It's been amazing how fast he got back to his feet and skis again, true inspiration!

Such a amazing amazing story. +vibes to him. I bet some people watch him ski and say 'gaper, learn to ski or get off the hill' but really he's more amazing and talented skier that they'll ever be.
