So should I get After Dark or not?

Is it really as lame as everyone said it was? Or is it just going a different route in terms of style/cinematography and people are resisting change?

After Dark is incredible, definitely get it. The soundtrack is just a little different then all hood shit its good though

i thought the b-movie in the bonus features was a lot better than the actual movie. granted that there wasn't any backcountry, the editing wasn't as good, but the vibe and music was better imo

Get it, without a doubt. The skiing is awesome, esp. P White, Logan/Bellemare, Hornbeck, Some top travel segments, soundtrack is great too, something a bit different. Also editing is superb.

I think it's just that people are more moved to comment on stuff when they are dissapointed than when they are stoked, hence why you might have heard some people say it is 'lame', but i would bet that the large majority of people who bought it, myself very much included, loved it.

Quoted for emphasis, sooooo good. The only segment that I skip when rewatching and rewatching and rewatching is Japan and even that segment is ridiculously good.

lj isn't in after dark...

definitely get it. i wasn't too stoked on it when i first got it, but the more times i watch it the better it gets. plus the compton/ imlach/ wesson segment is delightful.

I effing LOVED After Dark. A lot of kids are hating on the music, but I thought it was very nice to not have to listen to dubstep and ridiculous gangster rap, plus the editing was really really good. Def a film worth buying.

I'd be willing to bet that After Dark is the future of ski movies. Dubstep wont be around forever, kids.

Get it, every person bitching about after dark is either 14 with no appreciation for a great movie that isn't the same rap bullshit or just someone who is too picky and just trying to find something wrong for no reason. Its a great movie.

Grand Bizarre was shit in movie form I could give you the full rant but instead here's spark notes

Spark Notes: Sammy's segment was good but I have to watch it on mute the song is SO bad. Bobby's segment was good, if you like watching competition robot style. We've all already seen Dumont's segment in cubed pipe edit. Leigh Powis has some sick shots. LJ had the only BANGER segment. If your entire crew goes to ski BC shit only put in the good shots. TOO MANY BAD SHOTS

saw AD at if3 honestly wasn't that great there is 2 part that make me love the movies ( they are like the best part ever for me) the Alex bellemare part and ahmet dadali ! god that was crazy! other than that that was like almost always the same spot !

I was asking myself the same question and I dedided to get it on itunes for 10$ in hd. I don't regret it, its was a great movie. I is really different from past years but not in a bad way. It wasn't as good as refresh but it was deff as good as Eye trip if not better.

I'll put it this way, there are a lot better movies to spend your money on. yes the soundtrack is poo, and im not one that only likes "rap and dubstep" in a ski video. I would rather spend 20 bucks on attack of la nina or one for the road than 10 on after dark. thats my opinion. take it or leave it

SO I went out and got it. It is fucking awesome.
All you little Henrik and Phil cocksucking losers have no idea about what you're talking about when it comes to movies. Great cinematography, PERFECT mix of urban and bc/mountain, and really cool/sometimes humorous theme.
The intro with the shots in the night were absolutely mind blowing. I'm gonna have to say After Dark is my favorite movie of the year, and I'm always in favor of MSP/TGR/PBP usually.
Keep doing what you're doing Level 1, we like it.



Also, the Sun Valley jump session was beautifully done.

I know what I'll be doing for the rest of my night...

And the soundtrack wasnt even bad. Even the "Friends" song wasnt all that horrible, although I think they couldve found a better song for that seggy. Also, they probably couldve done without Casabon's segment. A little pointless.

But besides that, fucking DOPE movie. Well done, once again.

I didn't think it was that sick a cervantes, probably partially since I couldn't see and my ears were bleeding, but after getting it itunes it is sick! So many bangers I didn't even notice. Get it for sure. MUCH better than poor boyz

i would say get the art of flight in hd. it is a snowboard movie so it might not be what your looking for but i promise you once you watch it your mind will be blown

most of the hate directed at this movie is because of the soundtrack. some people just cant stand it. doesnt really bother me but i could see how some of those songs like friends could drive some people crazy

get it, i loved it. it definitely wasnt what i was expecting, which is a good thing. something different than what you usually see. Parker Whites seg was stellar, as well as the most part of the movie.

It WAS going a different route in terms of style and cinematography, and was totally fucking awesome until they completely ditched that idea like 10 minutes in and went with cliche and boring instead. Gotta push some units I understand though. Riding was off the hook at times and repetitive at others. Probly worth 12.99 on itunes, I don't regret buying it.

i hate it when people say such and such film is shit, this films crap, the musics crap.

that being said, i didn't really like after dark. felt like i was watching it just for the sake of watching it. there were definitely some banger shots, but it didn't have the same vibe as attack of la nina or the grand bizarre

I also think that the trailer sent out a different vibe than what Level 1 made the movie to be... when watching the trailer i felt like it was going to be more like eye trip. They should have made their trailer more like refresh with a different vibe than like rap and like electronic kind of music... i guess the trailer gave me different expectations on what the movie would be
