We've been working hard on our new site, which just went live today- http://fdwear.com.

It has a new shopping cart complete with a new shipping calculator (more options and better rates), updated product info, new team members, custom suit picker, you name it.

i dont hate on first drop usually, but seriously you need to change a couple things.

first off, USE CAPITAL LETTERS WHERE NEEDED!!! half of your sales are prolly some kids mom buying him a jacket, and all lowercase letters looks really unprofessional, thus i wouldnt be surprised if people(some parents) dont trust your company.

second, change it back to first drop. what is FD soposed to stand for now? you're obviously trying to copy NS. saying "FD wear" sounds retarded in itself!

not really. a website is a place where you try to impress potential customers and persuade them to buy your product (which is why paying attention to little details is a good idea). this is a post on ns, which i do not care about at all. good try though

Professionalism and taking yourself seriously are two completely different things.

There are far better ways to give off the impression of being a rad company with a fun attitude than making a site full of painful clichés (script font), sloppy writing, and plagiarized stock photos (media section=fail).

It may seem like you're a legitimate company giving off an informal vibe, but based on your web design you come off as a half-baked company run by college drop outs. I really hope you didn't pay much for that web design...

i really liked your outerwear last year, but the way you have represented yourself as a company has been impressively terrible.

 I realy dont get why u give them so much hate?

 I for one have owned a pare of fd pants and i loved them.....sure they didnt have the best waterproof, and the stiching would start to tear a little but that will be fixed!

Heres my solution stop hating and they might take suggestions more seriously

i really liked FD last year, their fits looked ill, and the colors were really popping. Im not too sure about this year though, just seems like you guys are taking a step back instead of forward. The website feels less quality then last years, and your cammo pattern looks very simmilar to Oakley's from a few years back.

I think the first year you guys hit something with your fits, colors, and logo. I would say stick with that.

id just like to add that with my extensive knowledge of market research, tom wallisch and full tilt, that by the time i am 18 in just over 4 years time, i will be able to create a far better website with far better produced outerwear that looks rad as shit and will eliminate the very idea of an opinion because my shit will be so awesome that everyone will like it. Therefore, my outerwear coupled with full tilt boots, a gibberish sticker and tom wallisch's body will make everyone on this website love me for the thug that i pretend to be

Hahahah. NICE. When you create this far better company and website, do you think all of us from First Drop would be able to come work for your far superior company?

For the other comments, some of them are actually very helpful. Thanks! We have a new outerwear factory this year and ARE improving the stitching, fabrics are stronger and more waterproof, etc. This comes from us and our team testing the gear every day, and comments from our customers.

For the comments that are negative and unhelpful- what you guys are missing here is the fact that we ARE involved with the ski community and we DO listen (to actual smart, constructive feedback), and you are missing an opportunity here to have your opinion actually count. You basically are able to help us mold the perfect outerwear that we've all wanted. Of course we all want something different, but there are elements that remain the same or apply to make styles of outerwear.

SOOOO, I know it's hard, but if you can manage to stay positive and offer us constructive feedback that will make FD better, WE WILL LISTEN.

I gave you constructive feedback as to how to make your site more professional looking. Just because it's not about the outerwear doesn't mean you shouldn't take it into consideration.

What do you mean 'stay positive?' Criticism is, by nature, a negative thing. It means, "this is what I don't like and think you should change." Doesn't mean that it's hate, but positive criticism doesn't really make sense. Don't take anything that has a negative edge as hate that can just be disregarded. That will only make you fail as a company even faster, although I gotta say that I can't even think of the last time I saw the reputation of a ski-related company deteriorate so quickly.

Well i just want to throw out that when jiberish guys take time to reply to people on newschoolers, everyone is like wow that customer service at its best, but when First drop does it and talks about how they are improving production and stuff, everyone hates on them. I actually own a first drop suit and i have yet to find anything to make me disslike it.

have you even read this thread? it's pretty obvious that we're not hating on the fact that they reply saying their improving their product, it's that they don't take criticism well at all. they claim to (and it seems like they do when it comes to their product), but when it comes to their site and how they represent themselves, they refuse to accept criticism.


i provided a serious suggestion, and they responded in an immature and sarcastic way as though they thought my advice was completely ridiculous.


jiberish has their shit together 1000x more than first drop does. not saying first drop can't get there, but they need to learn a bit about how to represent themselves first.
