I think one of the coolest new features is the wifi backpack that allows you to broadcast your footage from anywhere you get a wifi signal. Now obviously you’re not going to get a wifi signal while out shredding, but you probably will get 3g. I live in Whistler and I get 3G over the entire resort, as well as most of the sled spots in and around the valley. So basically I just have to turn on my mobile hotspot on my iphone (or android), sync my Hero2, and then can live broadcast my gopro footage to the web, in realtime, as it happens. Presumably there will be a URL link, or gorpo account, to where your live stream appears, which you could post to your social media wall for all your contacts to view while they are sitting at their desks—in class or at work, or wherever. Pretty dope. I think these live streams could even get their own section on newschoolers. It would be sweet to tune into other people’s days on the mountains when you can’t be shredding yourself. There could even be a ‘Pro’ section where an athlete broadcasts their live X-games slopestyle or pipe run—or broadcasts their live session on a feature in the BC. Lots of possibilities really.
