they could, but people are smarter than that. And if that was the case then why is the resell value of their stuff so high? if there was an overabundance of product then it would water down the value and the resale value.

i'll believe it when i see it because i can't say i've seen much supreme being worn. i'd understand that there was a good amount in circulation (check out the hypebeast forums they're flooded) but just because there's a lot in circulation doesn't mean there's a lot of the product in a scale of product/population. it's the same with jiberish, just because there's a shit ton of it on NS doesn't fully depreciate the value, hell the fucking whore of an MVP sold for $300.

That all goes back to big names wearing their clothes. I could have a portrait of my dick plastered on a hanes tshirt and pay Tom wallisch to wear it in some segment and I'll make bank selling them to kids. It's all about showcasing your product

just got back from their soho store and gotta say i was not impressed. the hoodies seem very clean and good materials but the price is outrageous and only like 10 percent of the stuff could a normal person wear and not look like a tool/hypebeast. the people that work there look mad funny but thats prolly why they got hired. the prices are because of the rarity. they had a lot of the stuff from the new drop but not everything and im sure stuff sells out quickly. in general sucess in the clothing industry is all about image and supreme has it on lock.

It's called perceived value. You are willing to spend that much because you see it as being worth that much. With fashion it's generally just for exclusivity/trends/wanting to portray a certain image.
I'm a marketing student, and to be honest, I think people that spend all that money on clothing are retarded (Although I'm glad they exist). I usually won't spend over 15 dollars on a t-shirt.

I always chuckle when I walk by the Supreme store and their is a line of kids standing outside to get in but there are only 6 people in the entire store. On a Wednesday.
But whatever it is that they are doing it is working. They have been around longer then most other Urban/Skate brands. (I.E. Crooks & Castles, 10 Deep, Jiberish etc....) And they still garner respect in the industry. Its not cheap but its certainly not the most expensive brand in that market.

It's all about supply and demand....tons of kids be beastin over Supreme and there's limited quantities, so they can jack the price up.  It's funny too because while there are some really dope pieces that come out, most of the line is pretty mediocre, if not really wack.  Throw that logo on it though and it sells....then resells for 5x as much.....
