Cheapest All-Metal Bindings?

I have been looking around for new bindings for the upcoming season.  I have had 3 pairs of Look PX-12's and I have destroyed them all.  The only reason I kept getting them was because of how cheap they were.  Though they were plastic, I kept breaking the metal base plate in the heel, so I'm not even sure how much I would benefit for paying out the ass for an all metal binding.

I'm a poor kid that skis like he has all the money in the world.  I'm stupidly hard on my gear.  I'm 155lbs, and 5' 9 1/2" tall.  Should I get an all metal binding?  If so, which one would be my best bang for the buck.  Are there any notoriously durable n' cheap plastic bindings that would better suit me?  Help please!

I will be using k2 Domains this year, which are... 91?mm wide.

Will the brake bend that wide?

Look for salomon 916s or fks 155s. Both can be had for around $150

shit i just sold a pair of 185's, those things are stupid burlly. all metal, they won't fail you like the px series.

old salomon driver series pre 916, so like s900's. I picked up a pair of the 16 din (same as the 916, just gen older) on tgr for $50

a pair of fks 155s or 185s will do the trick for ya. I really like my tyrolia peak 18s too. they have some plastic on the outside, but all the important parts are metal.

If you're buying new, you're going to spend a lot of cash to find "all-metal" bindings.

Rossi FKS/Look Pivot 15/18, Fischer/4frnt/Head/Tyrolia 15/18/20, Salomon 900/916/920s can all be found much cheaper if you buy used.

I prefer the Salomon 900/916 platform for my skis and I always keep a stockpile of good used ones around.  I've paid anywhere between $5 and $200 for them.

that toe piece is terrible and isnt gonna hold up long if you're hard on bindings.

I have been using Head/Tyrolia/4frnt/elan/fischer bindings (all the same) for a while now. Dependable vertical toe release, all metal functional components, zero ramp angle, and? You can usually get the 15-18 din versions brand new for about 100-150 during the off season.

The head/4frnt bindings seem like the best option for me.  If they are as durable as you guys say, I am happy with that because they are right in my price range.

What's the difference between bindings with different DIN settings though?  I am happy with skiing at 9, but do skis that have higher options correlate with how burly the binding is in general?

Would these hold up for me?

There are even 11 DIN versions for $20 cheaper.  Keep in mind that I will not be cranking any pair of bindings up, so I just need to know again if higher DIN options = more durable components.

You will need the 15's or 18 if your looking for metal construction. The 11's and 12's are plastic, and essentially worthless.

yeah mojos feel so solid when you click into them. ^those will probably do everything you want them to do.

aren't the toes pretty flimsy though?

I just got my Look Pivot 15's in the mail, and man these bad boys look so sick! all metal toes (like their brother the FKS 155) and I paid $150ish shipped for them on TGR. I'll keep my eye out for more of 'em for you

The only thing to watch out for with the Tyrolia bindings is the brake width.  Their brakes are notoriously hard bend without breaking.

The toes are not the old style toe(geze?). They are like the sas or freeski series toe.

I have had 4 pairs of rossi bindings with those toes and never had a problem, the only problem I have ever had is with the sas or freeski heel piece.

The 2012 FKS 180 comes with the metal toe but they are much more expensive.
