I'm going to retire my current tripod soon and seriously upgrade. I've been looking at the Sachtler Ace and FSB4 aluminum and was wondering if anyone could tell me their experiences with Sachtler products and if this is the best tripod for the money. From the research I've done I've only heard great things about their products. If you can think of any better tripods out there for the price that would be greatly appreciated as well! Thanks!
Message Varsity. he knows more about sachtler and tripods in general more than anyone else I could think of.
From what I know, the only real drawbacks from the ace I know of are that it's a tad plastic-y and that the feet aren't that grippy. But those aren't dealbreakers, considering you're getting a sachtler tripod for $550. Preordered mine today and I'm beyond stoked
Im highly considering the fsb-4. the ace will definitely be a good tripod but if you have the budget i think getting the fsb-4 would be a better investment. Even though it is sachtler, you're still getting what you pay for.
BikeMlatt - Thanks man, I'll send a message over to him. Congratulations on your Ace, tripod looks so sick for the price! Cant wait to see what you can make with it!
Eheath - Yeah, the fsb-4 is like the max of my budget for a tripod. However, like buying good lenses I know it will last me a long time. So I'll probably give in and get one. Haha
