Hey people. I have not been around for a while, but my dad is wanting new skis this season and requested that I look into it. Being that grad school has taken over my life for the past couple years I have not been into what you kids are calling "hip" in the world of this years ski, so I come to you for suggestions of skis I look into.
So, my father is looking into a rockered powder ski.
Currently he has Volkl gotamas (older white ones) 183, volkl Tigersharks (172?), and some old Volkl V3s. (Yeah, he apparently likes Volkl).
He is (I'm kinda guessing) 6 foot, maybe 190-200 lbs. 59 years old. Good skier, but slower since his valve replacement/double bypass surgery.
So far I have been considering the DPS lotus, and the pon2oon. I have hellbents, and I think something like that will be completely too much ski for him (they are 189s).
He has no problem skiing powder on traditional camber (or old straight skis, for that matter), but he has expressed interest in this "rocker" shenanigans.
