Unfortunately, I lost my wonderful Oakley Holbrooks in clear w/ silver lens, and I have been looking to fill the hole left by their departure.
After poking around the internet, I caught an interest in Carrera sunglasses. Yet another authentic snow-related company with as much awesomeness as Oakley. Now they are famous for their pouty-looking shades that can be found on the faces of famous assholes around the world, but I found a frame style that really fit my fancy: the Carrera 6630.
Specifically in white-clear gradient frames with black arms, and a silver mirror-clear gray gradient lens.
Now these it a homerun for me in many categories. I have been wanting shield-style shades for a while, but that category is riddled with Marc Jacob and Juicy pouty-shield faggotry. This squared off shield look is something I haven't really seen before, and I really like it. Plus, I like the mirror-to-clear gradient on the lenses because it's nice to see things that are down with clarity, while blocking out the high sun. I also like how the frame goes to clear on the bottom, sort of following the gradient of the lenses, and also reminding me of my all-clear Holbrooks.
Well now, thanks for reading my bullshit. Now it's your turn: would I look like a jackass wearing these? Are they too fresh? To remind you, I pulled off the Holbrooks like it was my job, but are these too big a step up? Now on-hill, there is no debate, you can wear whatever you want and get away with it, but do you think the average college kid would hate on these? Of course, it doesn't really matter, and I will probably buy these anyways, but I kinda like to have stuff that sets me apart while not being too outrageous. I received my share of compliments on the Holbrooks, and I hope to accomplish the same with these babies.
