Skiing movies have come a long way. Every year as much as we rag on them we all know there getting better and better. We've certainly had our greats sessions 1242, teddybear crisis, hot lunch, refresh. IDEA of course, even after seeing it a couple times i would personally throw grand bizarre up there. Im not claiming to have seen every movie but ive got a good feel of the history and contemporary aspects of ski movie making.
As much as i love the movies every year over and over again i feel we lack one definitive movie that other action sports have. i am talking about a movie that is unanimously is accepted as the best not only this year but for years to come and is the movie that is able to sum up the meaning of our sport. this of course requires examples:
Mountain biking, my other passion has Life Cycles arguably my favorite sports movie of all time. It changed the entire mountain biking world, its trailer is still topping pinkbike highest rated videos. The movie had a strong philosophy and breath taking cinematics combined with unmatched riding
After watching Art of Flight i knew it was never going to be beaten. This movie changed the way i myself look at skiing and at how i defined a good movie. This movie also had a few strong messages and backed up with absolutely insane riding. No snowboarding movie will ever beat it and every snowboarder would point to it when given the opportunity to summarize their sport through video.
both movies available on itunes!
So my question is does skiing already have a definitive movie?
Is this thread just stupid?
what could be or how will it come to be?
What other definitive movies are there in action sports?
Do girls really love it when you pee in their butt?
