Respectable Gearheads, I have a question!

Okay, so I have 5 grand to spend on a car. I'm looking at 3 different cars: Acura Integra, Toyota Celica, and Hyundai Tiburon.

        Assuming I can afford the 2001 models of Integra and Celica, and the 02 of Tiburon, which should I opt for, and why?

I would go for the toyota because they last the longest. they are really mechanically sound cars and fairly easy to work on i fu have to.

Yea.

Reason being imo, that it is reliable, most likely easiest and cheapest to mod (if you are going that way)

celicas are dirt slow


Do you have to choose between a bunch of ricers?

Yes I do, I don't make enough money to keep up with the repairs on a European car, and I'm not a big fan of Detroit. Ricers are where it's at, so long as you don't rice them. I have no intention of modification.

+1 for the integra. It'll last you forever and parts are readily available and cheap as dirt.

The only thing with the Integra's is, their insurance is sky-high because they are the most commonly stolen car. If you look on Craigslist, there are pages upon pages of Integra "Part-Outs"

Dunno, I was in the same budget range, and some of my options were a Nissan 240sx, Mazda rx7, and the like. The nissan's are pretty damn reliable, and reasonably priced these days, as well as great to drive.

I would kill for a standard 240, but there are none to be found. RX-7's are waaayyy out of my price range, it remains artificially high due to the demand.

Yeah, the newer ones are wicked expensive, but the 80s are fairly cheap, though you wouldn't want one. I actually ended up in a supra, but I wouldn't recommend one.

Out of curiosity, why not? Forza 3 had me literally drooling over the Supra.

Ended up in an '88, and it's swell, but the one I got is a bit of a money pit. It's fun and all, though not as comfortable as I'd like, and less spacious then the others. It does use too much gas, but I was expecting than.
