Well some cruicial things first:
1) SKIS DUDE!
2) Make sure your college lets you bring a microwave. I know your part of the NY Cult like I am, and if your going to a school in NY chances are they wont let you bring it.
3) PS2/XBOX. Dont bother with a Gamecube itll just look dumb for a kid in college
4) Flip Flops for the showers. Friend didnt bother with em and got all nasy fungus crap
5) Anything that you can bring to save space

um becareful cause most collges won't let you have a microwave or anything that involves cooking/ heat in your room.
my room mate brought a tv with a VCR, and a refigerator. i brought my lap top so we could watch dvds on my lap top and tv on her tv. also bring like a laundry basket and cleaning supplies even toilet paper. and laundry detergant and shit. also bring a mat for the floor or bring one, cause atleast in our doom room our feet would be black from how gross that floor was and we used swifer wet jet shit on it almost every day. oh and take easy mac, its great. oh and bring a like a table lamp and light bulbs and an alarm clock, i was at an art school so we had to bring lamps that would clip onto the drawling tables in our dorms. also bring hangers.

def all your bedding and pillows and what (hope you checked to see whether you needed twin extra long or not, if you don't know what i am talking about then you should look into it)...towels (and i would take more than one for showering and stuff...hangers for your closet (word to whoever said that)...DEFINITELY take some flip flops for shower use only, college showers are nasty as fuck even if they do get cleaned every morning...a throw rug is nice whether you have carpet or not...a lamp for your desk...word to a game console (ps2 or xbox) and whatever games...posters to throw on your walls...take care of quarters while you are at home, it's a lot easier to get quarters in 'bulk' while you are home than while you are at school, there are no change machines in my dorm and you need quarters for laundry...don't forget your cell phone charger or your alarm clock... clutch call to who suggested easy mac, a life saver at 4am when everything is closed...and yeh, space-savers

i'm sure there is more, i'm just spacing it right now...

id also recommend some ear plugs. at times shit gets way to loud in the dorms and you want to get away from it. shot glasses are a good idea also if not already mentioned or assumed

oh yea get sticky tack, it was hard as fuck to hang shit on our walls at my college, the only thing that we got to work was sticky tack, but it was hard as fuck to find. also don't forget all your computer stuff like wireless and charger. also bring a bath robe for going to and from showers, i was lucky to have a shower and bathroom in my dorm room. also bring duct tape you never know when your gonna need it, and possibly a message board for your door, makes it really easy if your looking for some1 or some1 is looking for you, like put your cell number on it. you might even want to bring a mirror, odd yes, but can be very useful.

oh, and just so you know, don't ship stuff out before you go, atleast nothing your gonna need right away, my mom shipped out my towels annd sheets before i went to college and it took 5 days before it could get it, it sucks i had to borrow my roommates sheets and towels, just not kosher, like in the picture those were her green sheets.

yeah sounds like you guys covered most things.. we had a toaster in our room that worked out good, but theres not a whole lot of space in those stupid dorms. just enjoy not really paying for electricity and internet for a year until you move out and have to buy everything from furniture to kitchen supplies. easy mac and top ramen will be your best friend when you get sick of the nasty dorm food.. you'll learn cook top ramen in the microwave for 4 minutes on high.. dont worry too much about bringing ALL your ski stuff yet if your parents dont live too far away. mine sat dusty in my room for like 3 months until the snow fell... and atleast at my school, you didnt really need any of the locks for your laptop or computer cause the only thing i ever found missing was clothes or shoes. and you only need like one set of plastic dishes, and one of the sponge with automatic soap dispensers come in handy for washing dishes in the bathroom sink.

Most important is puter burner and popcorn on that first trip to sams get popcorn and a fan and all the snacks cause you got a meal plan proly we got caught smoking the first night in and busted but pop popcorn and turn on fan and puff away while you burn movies and music on free internet and waste power and money. Laundry is in house so don't freak and bring 50 shirts the less the better because you will accumulate so much in one year
