the headmaster at my school told y friend who was my old dorm proctor that i got a 98 percent on my psat and was tops in the school. WTF. will this help me at all or does the psat not mean shit?
I received a NM medal thing and graduated with honors because of my PSAT scores, plus my score on the new SAT without studying was exactly my PSAT score plus a 0.
I love standardized tests because they are my only redeeming factor on any application.
The sat was probably the easiest thing ever. Unfortunately they put a retarded amount of questions into a short amount of time.
The test was
1 + 1 = 2
blue mix with yellow makes green.
5 + 5 = 10
But there were 30 million questions. I don't have the rush skills. I did really well on the shit I answered because I Didn't finish a big chunk of it and still did alright.
it's not that it's hard to finish the questions in the allotted time, i often finish sections early, but it's the fact that you know you're working under a time constraint so you do each question with a sense of haste and nervousness that leads you to slip up on single answers.
there's no individual question on the SAT that's too hard to answer, they're just geared to penalize people who skim over them too quickly and who panic when they see big numbers and lots of decimals. most questions are heinously simple, they just like to appear bitchy so kids shit their pants
Also, correct my if I'm wrong, but I think the qualification for the National Merit Based Scholarship is the top 1%. So technically, OP you wouldn't qualify. If I'm right..
