Hidden gems in NYC

Pretty much everything I know is down on the LES. Supper on east 2nd is a small italian joint with amazing food and is relatively cheap. If you're looking to grab drinks and keep it mellow, the International bar on 1st ave is a sweet dive with cheap drinks and just a block from there is Cheapshots which offers $2 PBRs. If you want live music, Pianos on Ludlow usually has some solid local bands and the Mars Bar on 1st ave is an awesome punk bar, if thats your thing. Schiller's liquor bar is pretty cool too. a little more pricey thanthe others but its got a sweet 50s malt shop vibe going. PDT is a speakeasy inside Crif Dog hot dogshop on st marks. Go into the phone booth in the hot dog shop and dial any number on the pay phone. some one in the bar will open up the back wall of the booth and let you in. Awesome cocktails and friendly mixologists. Now if you're looking to get REALLY wild, there is the Mehenata Bulgarian Bar at 113 Ludlow. The place is full of gypsys and eastern european trash who love dancing and vodka. I have so many stories from this place. I guarantee you'll have a good time as long as you go without inhibitions. The Longboard Loft NYC: Owned by Bustin Boards out of Brooklyn. They let you try their boards in the streets, plus they carry a bunch of other manufacturers boards and accesories.

Webster Hall: killer indie concerts (if your into that like me)

Blades: nice skateshop, a lot of sick clothing and accesories...located just above SOHO in NOHO

Uniion Square: awesome place to kill some time or spend the day, there is Paragon Sports, Wholefoods, and a shit ton of other shops...and a farmers market

Bedford Ave (and surrounding area) in Williamsburgh Brooklyn: if you havent been over before check it out, there is a ton of great restaraunts, thrift shops and random ass places to explore
