No it's not, HE killed him self, it was HIS choice. It would be sad if someone else killed him, but he did it him self, so we have no reason to be sad. He didn't think about the people he would be leaving behind, so their pain and sorrow is 100% on him and him alone.

Stories like this make me fucking angry. Everyone demands sympathy for the kid, but the fact is, he did a very cowardly thing by taking his own life. He obviously didn't think of the consequences of his actions other than what would become of himself (fucking dead, obviously). What about his family? Friends? Anyone who cared about him is likely now crushed and heartbroken, but he gets to take the easy way out. Fuck that, I feel no sympathy for him, only his loved ones.

I haven't read the thread through, but the stuff taken from the article leads me to believe that he was clinically depressed, as in a mental imbalance, not just being unable to cope with bullying. I would guess that straight/gay/sporty/unpopular this kid would have had some deep seeded problems. Unfortunate that he couldn't handle it, though.

HE HAD A MENTAL ILLNESS. MAYBE IF YOU HAD SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS WHO HAS TRIED TO COMMITT SUICIDE TWICE YOU MIGHT BETTER UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION. YEAH HE KILLED HIMSELF BUT IT IS SAD BECAUSE IF HE WAS NOT SICK I AM 99% PERCENT SURE HE WOULD NOT HAVE

its sad that he had to resort to suicide because he couldn't put up with all the bullying. you can't relate to being bullied because of your sexuality... neither can i, so who are we to judge? all i know is all over fb people are greiving over the loss of him and it sucks to see. yeah people can say its all his fault he chose to do it. but maybe he wasnt as strong mentally or didnt see any hope.

If he had the problems, why doesn't it say that he got help? Would that have been to hard for him? Everyone saying that he took the easy way out is right. Everything could have been avoided if he tried to avoid it.

It is very relevant to this situation, as you are using your opinions on free will to shape your argument. And I would say free will is quite real depending on what your definition is... sure, your choices are going to be shaped by your past experiences, and your genetic predispositions, and your perceptions of both.. but impact =/= governance. That's my take at least.

The fact is, that your life impacts other people. Doesn't matter if you like it or not, that's the way it is. Most of the choices you make will have an impact on other people's lives in one way or another, and you should at the very least be aware of it, if not let it impact your decision making process.

He wasn't being harassed.. he was being ignored. So what? Yea, it's great to have friends you can share deep personal things with, but just because most people don't want to hear about how you love penis on a regular basis, that makes life unfit to live? I honestly do think the average person in a first world country should be ecstatic with their position in life. Should they strive to make it better? Sure. Should they get hung up on things like people not accepting you for are? No. There's always going to be people who don't like you/who you are.

on this whole coward thing. i would say its a pretty bold move to kill yourself although these "new" methods of some medication-overuse or whatever kind of just let you go to sleep and never wake up. must still feel weird. think of when you had a surgery and this guy tells you to count to 10 and you know the last number you say is the last thing you will ever think of... weird...

then on the other hand, why would you feel bad for "friends", family and so on when (vastly oversimplified) they didnt care and couldnt help?

imo, suicides (idk what was in this situation) shouldnt be classified as "cowardly" when there was a gun, a cliff or a rope involved which shows HUGE desperation.

suicide is a very emotional thing and this thread is a nice example for it.
