Rockered Ski Length

I am getting a pair of hellbents this season to be used in the park as well as the bc (half and halfish). I normally ride park skis +/- 180cm. I've never ridden a pair of rockered skis and have heard to definitely buy bigger because of the effective edge and rocker will make them feel short. Because of k2's sizes being 179 and 189... should I really bump up to the 189? That seems long to me, like too long to be swinging around in the park. Can anyone shed some FIRST HAND light on this situation please.

On a ski like the Hellbent, it is absolutely key to go longer than usual. The running length is much shorter than your regular ski so you must add length to compensate. I have ridden both lengths and even the 189s feel short.

Why are you choosing the Hellbent for your one ski quiver? (assuming that's what you want it for).

It's a massive ski, I know everyone has their preferences, but if you're looking for a rockered ski that you can ski park and pow in, why not look for something less beefy?

What's your height? Weight? park to pow ratio ( as a percentage)?

When I had hellbents (as my pow sticks) I took a few park runs with them and it was fun to mess around with for awhile but it was not something I would want to do all the time. They felt too floppy/unstable and they are heavy as fuck.

I would recommend something a little more versatile but some people ski their hellbents as everyday skis, to each his own I guess.

Thanks steezosaurus... i need people who actually have experience with this.

This is not a one ski quiver btw, I still have my anthems and will use them when there is no powder (spend the whole day in the park). However, when there is good snow I want to be in the bc. I don't want to bring two pairs of skis with me to the mtn, so if i get out there and the pow isnt so good, im gunna take the hellbents in the park later in the day. I like popping around and pressing everything in sight, and my favorite skis are super soft to the point that they are unstable (old fujatives, old 4frnt stls, etc.) so thats why I picked the hellbents... they seem like they can handle both worlds (if I'm wrong, please tell me haha).
