Skis for brother?

Hey guys, I realize there's already 2,000 threads on this topic but I didn't want to shuffle through all the park/all mountain ski threads.

Anyway, he's 5'7", 130 lbs
-He skis in Washington
- Wants a ski that can handle soft snow/powder fine and still be able to carve well, and some side country
- Type 3 skier
- Basically unlimited budget
- He's not interested in park/riding switch in pow/jibbing trees
- Right now he's riding 165 cambered and is comfortable with the size

So far he's looking at the Blizzard cochise, Blizzard bonafide, Nordica steadfast, Nordica hell and back.
He was also wondering if a 177 blizzard cochise would be too big, I told him it wouldn't since it has an early rise. So my questions are, is it too big, is he looking at the wrong skis, and what other skis do you recommend?

IMO the 174 TST would be a better bet than the blizzard skis. I love blizzard, but he doesn't weigh anything, which means the cochise might be a little much for him to handle in really tight situations, plus its not going to be nearly as poppy.  The TST will do absolutely everthing he will ask of it well.

I heard this years bacons are sick. I dont know how well they will be in the park but all mountain pow they would be soooo dope!

Oops, double post but he realized they can both fit his criteria but he doesn't know if he wants to go stiff (bonafide) or soft (s3). Wouldn't a stiffer ski be more stable at high speeds? And is a 21.0m turn radius too big for tight tree skiing?

Not when its got rocker, makes it waaayy more manuverable, and generally speaking stiffer is more stable at speed, but the difference in stability between these two is due ot the two shhets of metal in the bonifide, and the lack thereof in the s3

These would all serve well. Pretty much any wider(100mm ish) waist ski with a little early rise tip/tail will serve him well. So have him check out ski's in that size and style. He isnt going to want a real heavy rockered ski if he wants to be really charging/carving groomers and won't want a super fat ski for that reason and it's just not needed if he isnt going to be using it as a powder specific ski.
