Good Running shoes

Ok, so i have the mile next tuesday and my running shoes are trashed and small for me, i had $112 asics before and didn't like them that much, im looking to improve my time this year by a good amount, what are some light and comfty shoes for running/

i'll shut up then. yeah lunarfly's are good, i have a friend who swears by them. I have the Nike Dual Fusion ST2, they're pretty inexpensive and I like them a lot. Really really light, and good support.
