Ok so my brother goes to college at UMD Duluth and this weekend Duluth is playing U of M in hockey. It is tradition that the fans of each school get together before the game and play each other. My brother wants to mount my GoPro on his helmet to film it but I'm not sure if it's a good idea? I know the GoPro can take a beating but will it withstand being sandwitched between a helmet and a board? I assume that the mount would probably break but would the camera be ok?
The camera would probably survive, but no way it stays on the helmet. Mine has popped off my helmet just grazing some tree branches and also falling hard in powder... hockey? No way. You'd have to use the chest mount.
My roommate was the goalie for the ISU Hockey Team and he would wear it to practice. People obviously only aim for the head now... but its held up perfect. He never had a single issue with it on his goalie helmet.
