got caught last night, parents are pissed, i fessed up. How should i handle it?

I spent so much time explaining why it's very difficult to get to the point where you can say that weed causes cancer, and you retort this bullshit? Marijuana is illegal in the America. Thus, not enough people smoke it on a daily basis for a very extended period of time (20+ years and that's probably too little) to determine that marijuana causes cancer. Also, there are studies that are starting to say burning firewood might be able to cause cancer, so yes, there is a high chance that marijuana MIGHT be able to cause cancer. Honestly, nobody on this website knows enough about marijuana to argue this, and that is what I'm trying to explain.
It did not take one fucking day to determine that cigarettes cause cancer. And even when they pulled out statistics that showed a very strong correlation of people smoking cigarettes getting cancer, they were still not allowed to say that cigarettes cause cancer, because correlation is not equal to causality.
And finally, I'm sure scientists could find SOME ingredients in cigarettes or cigars or whatever that are beneficial, but does that really matter? No, so your point is irrelevant. Smoking weed is not the same as using cannibus oil.
