Caught smoking weed...

Well he is my dad actually and i know for a fact that he has smoked almost every day since he was 13 years old. I also know for a fact that he is perfectly healthy.

1) How are these examples arbitrary? They relate directly to the argument.

2) I'm not trying to justify anything. I smoke pot either way and I don't care what other people think about that or the health issues that come from it.

3) I hadn't used anything that even resembled "stoner science" until my third post but you called me out for it on my first, when I was merely asking questions

Again I smoke almost every day and and know people who do also. I also know people who smoke cigs everyday and are totally healthy. None of that means that the actions the self are safe. And you acting like it is some scientific case study for weed because nothiNg has happened yet is stoner logic with only one end... To justify doing something unhealthy. Just be honest with your self. Weed is unhealthy but fun lol

One case of one person does not speak for all weed smokers and all cigarette smokers.  That is why it is arbitrary. 

And technically, it's impossible to say that smoking weed causes cancer without having scientific proof.  Statistical studies do not count.  And it takes a very long time to get scientific proof on something like that, which is why it took so long for the FDA to force cigarette manufacturers to put the "Smoking causes cancer" labels on their boxes.

I wasn't saying it was a universal law or anything. Just a personal example. I do see what you mean though.

And there have been countless scientific studies done on marijuana's effects and no correlation exists between it and lung cancer.

When did I act like it was "some scientific case study?" I just brought it up because I thought it was relevant to the thread.

You may know some people who smoke cigs now and are healthy but if you continue smoking a lot of them for a long period of time, your lungs will get fucked up no matter what. The same can not be said for weed.


But whatever, let's just agree to disagree. You think weed is unhealthy, I don't. That's all there is to it.

No, I can substantiate it through the thousands of people who have died from cigarette-related lung problems.
How many people do you know of who have died from marijuana related lung problems? None? That's what I thought.

I know it's okay to enjoy something that's inherently unhealthy, that's why I smoke tobacco. I also enjoy weed especially since it carries with it the bonus of not being bad for you.

I'm not trying to legitimize my personal use of marijuana. I would smoke it whether or not it was unhealthy. I just happen to think that it isn't and there's nothing you can say to me that will change that short of scientific proof.

Also, don't call me "kid" you condescending fuck. How old are you anyway?

It's virtually impossible to obtain no correlation.  And I really doubt that there have been many scientific studies on marijuana use over long periods of time because that is very hard to do.  Not many people smoke marijuana through their whole life.

Scientists have probably studied marijuana and everything in it in search of something that could cause cancer, but that is also very hard to find.  Which again, is why it took so long for the FDA to force cigarette manufacturers to put that label on their cartons.

Basically, what I'm saying, is that to be able to say that cigarettes cause cancer or marijuana causes cancer or smoke causes cancer, you need more than just statistical evidence.  Because correlation is not equal to causality.

I'm going to say that it's very hypocritical of you to call my post ignorant when you go on to say that.  First, there's probably not many people that smoke marijuana regularly their entire life.  Second, there's probably not many people that smoke marijuana regularly their whole life, without smoking cigarettes at all for any portion of time in their life.  And third, inhaling smoke into your lungs increases your risk of getting cancer.

did anyone ever think that the reason people who smoke cigarettes are more likely to get lung cancer than people who smoke weed is because most of them smoke around a pack a day? anyone who smokes weed everyday is not going to smoke as much as someone who smokes cigarettes everyday. Has there ever been a study that compares someone who smokes one joint a day and someone who smokes one a cigarette day? in my opinion all the studies comparing the two are irrelevant unless they are proportionate.

Exactly.  Smoking weed and smoking cigarettes cannot be compared, and not enough people smoke marijuana regularly through their whole life so statistical studies about marijuana are never thorough enough.

Actually Sort of yes. There was a brand of cigs that were out in the sixties that weren't supposed to cause cancer. Nut, because in the sixties it hadn't been proven that they did cause cancer the brand went under.

you think an industry that has environmental and FDA oversight uses fertilizers and pesticides that are more harmful thna what is used on an illegal crop that is clandestinely grown purely for profit, where the growers tend to not give a fuck what is used as long as it looks good, smells good, and smokes good?

Smoking MJ can cause a plethora of lung diseases
driving stoned is pretty fucking dangerous
people who deal in illegal buisnesses tend to be unsavory characters
MJ is addictive.


*****tell your parents you are sorry you broke their trust. you smoked it cause you were curious, and you knew of other kids who smoked and loved it. You tried it a couple times yourself and it burned your throat, made you cough a lot, and just made you tired. you think it is pretty over rated, and dont plan on trying it again til college if even then. doesnt matter if any of this is true, it will make the parents feel better about the situation, and they will go easier on you.

Also I don't think you know any pot growers. They're usually normal people for the most part who love weed and want to make money. Not gun-toting, shoot em up, add-pesticide-to-my-weed-because-I-don't-give-a-fuck gang bangers. If someone grew enough weed that they needed to add pesticide via airplane and didn't take care of them by hand it would end up being shitty weed.

haha, now i know you dont know anybody who actually grows for a living, if you think they are sweethearts. dudes dont fuck around, they have pitts, fully automotic guns, and live a very rough life in general. im not talking, people who have real jobs, and do indoor crops on the side, im talking dudes who do it for a living, and grow hundreds of pounds of it. and you would be very, very surprised how good a lot of outdoor is.

you think you can grow 5 acres of weed in nice, accesible area? you think they use certain pesticides and not others because "one is better for the environment"? haha your a joke if you think the DG's aren't in it strictly for the money. not to mention grow-op's are fucking horrible for the environment. All the fertilizers, pesticides, diesel fuel, rerouting creeks, littering, etc that happens is awful.


I dont doubt for one second that tobacco growers put all kinds of shit in the soil, and on the plants to induce a bigger better crop, but dont kid yourself about dope growers...

haha childs play. youll get what 3-4 pounds 3 times per year out of an indoor grow that big. those are people who grow weed, they aren't growing for a living. The vast majority of weed comes from larger outer grows...which is where they use3 the cheapest, best fertilizers and pesticides they can get. and you know what stuff tends to be really cheap? the stuff you aren't allowed to use for comercial aggriculture anymore, so suppliers have a surplus they cant get rid of on hand.


If you ever get some super crystally outdoor buds, well, those crystals are most likely NOT THC crystals...



BTW, you live in minnesota, what the fuck do you know about growing weed outdoors?
